Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay

Jaden and Quesia are starting out on a fresh, brand new adventure together as newlyweds as they were wed at the Reef in Long Beach with a beautiful view of the Bay. Even though they are in their early 20’s, they knew they wanted each other and no one else to grow old with. There was many advice from their parents and relatives to wait and make sure, but anyone watching had no doubt they were sure. Jaden told me before the ceremony to just make sure everything was right for his bride, that’s all he cared about. So he’s already ahead of the game. His mother also commented after the wedding, “I am losing my son, the apple of my eye! But he couldn’t have chosen anyone better than Quesia”.

Roger had the honor of marrying Greg & Shana this last weekend at the always wonderful wedding venue, The Reef in Long Beach. ¬†Greg & Shana had planned everything out perfectly, a great wedding venue, getting married at sunset, a full bridal party, ring bearer and a flower girl‚Ķ.everything ! ¬†In fact, the ring bearer and flower girl would be his kids who would participate in the wedding. ¬†Well, the day of the wedding, everything was moving along smoothly, as everyone got ready for the big moment. ¬†Just prior to starting, Greg the groom comes up to Roger and tells him that his kids would rather not participate (stage fright) !!! ¬† But Greg and Roger also knew that Shana the bride REALLY wanted to walk down upon the red rose petals they had worked so hard to prepare‚Ķ. ¬†So what does an officiant do in a case like this, he gets creative‚Ķ. ¬†Roger walks up to the three groomsmen and makes them an offer they cant refuse‚Ķ. You see, the groomsmen were not walking out with the bridesmaids but with just the three of themselves‚Ķ. so they took on double duty and became the¬†‚Äúflower girl groomsmen‚ÄĚ !! ¬†It was perfect ! ¬†And now these three groomsmen can check that off their bucket list !!

Sufen Wang and Tom Winninghoff brought a lot of love and creativity into their May 29 wedding at the Reef Restaurant

Sufen Wang and Tom Winninghoff brought a lot of love and creativity into their May 29 wedding at the Reef Restaurant, with family and friends bringing thoughtful readings and heartfelt greetings during the ceremony led by Rev Dr Gary Barmore of Great Officiants. Looking out over Long Beach harbor and the Queen Mary, Tom and Sufen not only expressed vows that launched their own family, but they gave tribute to the families and heritage from which they had come.¬† Before they recessed down the aisle to a great future, Rev Gary gave them a scriptural send-off: “Your eyes have not seen, nor has your ear heard, nor has it entered into your heart, the things God has in store for those who love!”

Overlooking the Queen Mary and Long Beach Harbor, Connie Balajadia and Michell Brown, at the Reef Restaurant, tenderly and touchingly exchanged vows as led by Rev Dr Gary Barmore of Great Officiants.¬† The couple proudly “showcased” their blended family, with son Christopher escorting his mother, and daughters Camille, Christine and Abigail standing as her bridesmaids.¬† The groom, otherwise a rugged guy, shed tears as his daughter and new daughters processed to the beautiful outdoor altar.¬† Mitch and Connie were so glad that they at met in the home of Rev Barmore for planning the ceremony, selecting vows and getting acquainted; Gary’s desire is not to be a stranger when he shows up to lead this most significant experience.

A Great Wedding at a Great Venue: The Reef in Long Beach

Image

IMG_0460
Elena and Ruben's wedding took place at The Reef in Long Beach. This is a great venue because the rooftop deck has a beautiful Long Beach skyline backdrop along with the bay and all the sailboats.

Their processional and recessional was wonderful because instead of having groomsmen and bridesmaids it was composed of all the kids in their family including Elana's kids. To top off this cuteness they were all dressed up in early 1900s attire! They were too cute to handle and so adorable!

We incorporated The lasso ritual and the sand ceremony. In their sand ceremony instead of having to individual containers representing the groom and bride we had six individual containers of sand representing the happy couple and the bride's four children. Like I've said in the past we can customize any and all of our ceremonies in add-ins to fit your wants and needs.

This was truly a beautiful ceremony and a day to remember! Elena & Ruben I wish you both all the blessings in the world and send you lots of hugs!!!

Great Officiant Michael Performs Ceremony at The Reef in Long Beach

Nick and Monica were so much fun to work with!¬†We performed their ceremony on the rooftop of The Reef in Long Beach and both they and their guests were ready to laugh, celebrate and have a great time.¬†When they came to us they knew exactly what they wanted – a short, sweet ceremony with none of the hassle and that’s exactly what I put together for them, including helping them get their license through Great Officiants saving them a ton of time and troubles.

We wish you both the best!!!

Officiant Frank Battles the Sun at the Reef

Tanykea & Mark D. - 03.30.14

¬†¬†¬†¬† Congratulations to Tanykea Ingram and Mark DeBoe, Sr. on their sunny wedding on March 30¬†at The Reef in Long Beach, CA.¬† It¬†was a great day overlooking the harbor with the sun glaring in our eyes.¬† As the processional began, the sun didn’t stop our eyes from focusing on all THIRTY-FIVE (yes, 35) members of the Bridal Party, as they made their way down the aisle.¬† The special reading by Tanykea’s dad, Reverend Perry Ingram, made it extra-special.¬†¬†Aside from the wind preventing the Unity Candles from being lit, the ceremony went perfect!
