Joey and Kristen have been dreaming of this day for months now! Hailing all the way from Indiana, they came out here to Southern California to have their perfect wedding on the beach.¬†Although overcast, we were still optimistic on performing the Hindu Fusion ceremony. The ceremony was complete with the major Hindu traditions such as the Vivah Homa/Mangal Fera (fire blessing/circling the fire), garland exchange (beautifully provided by Beth of Lei of Love), and parental blessing. There were some Bible readings to honor Kristen’s religion and culture, which capped off a beautiful ceremony.

During the vows, the sun shone through the clouds, as their love will shine through their lives forever.

They were married in front of 40 of their close family and friends, afterwards we took a group photo

After the ceremony, they went to the Sunset room at the Charthouse in Redondo beach and lived happily ever after.

Sufen Wang and Tom Winninghoff brought a lot of love and creativity into their May 29 wedding at the Reef Restaurant, with family and friends bringing thoughtful readings and heartfelt greetings during the ceremony led by Rev Dr Gary Barmore of Great Officiants. Looking out over Long Beach harbor and the Queen Mary, Tom and Sufen not only expressed vows that launched their own family, but they gave tribute to the families and heritage from which they had come.¬† Before they recessed down the aisle to a great future, Rev Gary gave them a scriptural send-off: “Your eyes have not seen, nor has your ear heard, nor has it entered into your heart, the things God has in store for those who love!”

Though rain threatened in the early am, it was a gorgeous day in Stanton, CA!¬† The scene enhanced by a lovely door-frame decorated with the word Love made by a member of the groom’s family. (Photo attached) Kurt and Angie were wed with great simplicity and quiet excitement.¬† Then the groom surprised her and the guests with a dramatic dip and a kiss.¬† Then it was straight to the reception where Brittney and the staff at Park Ave. welcomed them with open arms.

Overlooking the Queen Mary and Long Beach Harbor, Connie Balajadia and Michell Brown, at the Reef Restaurant, tenderly and touchingly exchanged vows as led by Rev Dr Gary Barmore of Great Officiants.¬† The couple proudly “showcased” their blended family, with son Christopher escorting his mother, and daughters Camille, Christine and Abigail standing as her bridesmaids.¬† The groom, otherwise a rugged guy, shed tears as his daughter and new daughters processed to the beautiful outdoor altar.¬† Mitch and Connie were so glad that they at met in the home of Rev Barmore for planning the ceremony, selecting vows and getting acquainted; Gary’s desire is not to be a stranger when he shows up to lead this most significant experience.

Roger had the honor of marrying Charles & Elizabeth this last Sunday at the most extraordinary Hacienda Restaurant.  The restaurant itself is amazing and the staff were impeccable !  Plus Charles & Elizabeth looked like they were right out of the movies !  And the guests were there to party and Roger didn’t disappoint by starting off the celebration with a great ceremony !  Lost of love and lots of laughs !  This wedding was perfect and one to remember.

Image

   PART ONE

On 12-13-14 I get a panicked call from Nick and Destiny. They need to get married Asap at our Cute Little Wedding Chapel. We set them up for a 10pm wedding. 30 of their friends and friends showed up. They told me the sad news that Nick was just diagnosed with a brain tumor and they needed to get married asap.

So surrounded by friends and family I gave them a wonderful heartfelt ceremony filled with laughter and love.

PART TWO

They were scheduled to get married the following January and when they contacted the venue  the venue was unsympathetic and would not change their date or refund their money. This outraged many around them and Channel 7 news did a story on this (watch original news story below). tumor news

PART THREE

Members of the wedding community rallied around them and together we all set the wheels in motion to do their wedding and donate our time. The White House Restaurant in Anaheim donated their facility and catering and many other vendors jumped on board.

PART FOUR

January 2nd 2016 their new wedding day.

When we designed their ceremony they wanted something very special and different. They were doing a 50s style wedding and wanted me to do Elvis but they were also huge¬†Star Wars Fans. So I designed a mashup ceremony using my Elvis and Star Wars scripts together. I wore my Jedi outfit and Elvis wig and glasses and created………Elvis Kenobi the intergalactic king of¬†rock and roll.

The Wedding party walked in to the Imperial march from the movie then Elvis Kenobi sand the bride down with the Hawaiian Wedding Shon. With references to the star wars movies and Elvis songs the ceremony was filled with laughs, songs and Love. We included the potion ceremony where their Midichlorians were blended together into a tree trunk from the planet Endor. If smoked arised then their love was true. Then did a Sand Ceremony with sand from the planet Tatooine.

It ended with an amazing Kiss and the recessional was to the Star Wars Main theme song.

Channel 7 news showed up and did a follow-up story as shown below. Video

It all ended with a wonderful happy family moments. Nick is tumor free. Yaaaaaa!!!

They gave me an awesome testimonial Video_1

May the force be with you. Elvis has left the galaxy.

Congratulations to Sylvia and Ben… “Mazel Tov” and “TrńÉm nńÉm hŠļ°nh ph√ļc”, too! The happy couple celebrated their wedding¬†in mid-October¬†at Top Chef Shirley Chung’s Twenty Eight Restaurant in Irvine.

Thank You to Ben’s mom, poet Leslie Neustadt, who posted the following kind words: “Mauricio conducted the interfaith service for my son’s wedding. He communicated well with my son and daughter-in-law in creating the ceremony they wanted. They had asked me to write a poem and blessings to read at their wedding. Mauricio coordinated with me but did not appropriate any of the material.(Something that other officiants have done to me.) He thoughtfully included my piece in the booklet he prepared for himself.* He clearly derives joy from conducting wedding ceremonies and it is reflected in everything he does. He has just the right mix of solemnity, good humor and joy to make a ceremony a memorable occasion.”

* Leslie is referring to the program script A. Mauricio creates to ensure that the couples for whom he officiates have a wedding is personal and as unique as they are.  Additionally it lists the names of the Wedding Entourage as well as with the song titles, with artists names, used during the ceremony.  After the wedding A. Mauricio leaves the script with the couple as a memento/souvenir of their Special Day.
