Check out these three awesome weddings in Edens Garden in Moorpark, Maggiano’s in Costa Mesa, and Porter Valley Country Club

Image

Jasmine and Joseph’s wedding took place at Edens Garden in Moorpark, California and let me tell you this truly is the Garden of Eden‚Ķ Beautiful landscaping, wonderful greenery, captivating fountains, outstanding plants and flowers and luscious green grass are just some of the perks of this wonderful hidden gem‚Ķ An outside reception area that just captivates the mind and soul with white peacocks in cages to astound the eye.

As Jasmine was preparing to walk down the aisle Joseph could not hold his emotions back‚Ķ “oh my God, oh my God, oh my God”, was all he could say when he saw his wife to be coming down the aisle in Edens Garden. Jasmine’s smile lit up the place and her walk to him was emotional, exciting and of course a little anxious

They wrote their own vows to each other and read them with passion, feeling and conviction, and as they were pronounced husband and wife and walked off into Edens Garden to celebrate their marriage nuptials, all I could say was; this was a great wedding, for a great couple, at a great place by Great Officiants.

Joshua and Britney‚Äės wedding took place and Maggiano‚Äôs Italian Restaurant in Costa Mesa California‚Ķ This wedding was elegant, quite intimate and beautiful‚Ķ Their colors were a beautiful gray and plum that accented the oak wood tables,¬† chairs and the room was a stunning cream with soft wood oak walls that had an appeal of warmth and flavor‚Ķ Their procession was small but so heartwarming and beautiful‚Ķ They wrote their own vows in which both teared up with joy in their hearts to each other‚Ķ Their mother‚Äôs were so happy and Maggiano‚Äôs did a wonderful job of making their day beautiful.

Last April, Great Officiants contacted me with a request for a rabbi to officiate Jared and Meghann’s interfaith wedding ceremony at Porter Valley Country Club. I was available for November 18th and reached out to them.   Within a few moments, I bonded with this fun loving couple and they with me.  We met together to craft their unique ceremony and then commissioned to create their Custom Ketubah.

Explaining the opportunity they have to customize their Ketubah and infuse it with their energies, they chose the lake and fountain at the Country Club, which was to be the background of their ceremony.

Meghann and Jared’s ceremony was to start at 4:30 and the sun was just getting prepared to surround the couple and guests with a spectacular light show that was not expected.  The weather and sun setting was like soft music playing while they shared their vows before family and friends.  Congratulations to the Jared and Meghann!

Roger Rocks Three Ceremonies: one at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles, one at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello, and one at Castaways in Burbank

Image

As we all know, Southern California has been testing our comfort limits with the recent heat waves.  And this last weekend really was a doozy.  Roger had the honor of marrying Henry & Kat this last weekend at the incredible Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles.  This is one of the most amazing wedding venues, top shelf staff, beautiful lighting, everything……..except a way to keep an outside wedding cool !  The poor groom Henry was not only nervous but doing an awful lot of perspiring………. But he was a trooper because he was marrying the love of his life !

Roger was honored to be part of this wonderful, romantic wedding this last Saturday for Kendrick & Lauren.  It was held at the always amazing Quiet Cannon in Montebello.  Now Kendrick & Lauren are a fun loving couple and the groom Kendrick is big time into comics, movies and especially Star Wars !  So Roger delivered!!  Is was both fun and romantic and Roger, who has learned from the best, his boss Alan Katz, added in some pizazz theme commentary for the groom !  It was a wedding too remember, even for the imperial storm troopers !!

Roger officiated a wonderful wedding this last weekend at Castaways in Burbank.  Now even though Castaways is closed for renovations, they still had their hands full with three weddings all happening at the same time.  But Castaways always has their act together and everything went smooth for all three weddings !  And as for the wedding couple, Joshua & Kysstina, they are in incredibly loving couple who really wanted their guests to have as much fun as they were planning to have.  So they asked Roger to pull out all the stops….and Roger did indeed !  It was a perfect wedding except for one very little, tiny if you will, problem……One enterprising gnat that would not leave Roger or Joshua alone !  All during Roger’s reading, this gnat, was constantly buzzing Roger’s ear and Roger really had to concentrate and not show his displeasure with this uninvited guest…And once Joshua started reading his own vows, the gnat actually then went over too Joshua and gave him the buzzing treatment too !  Joshua had to swat him away just to get thru his moving speech.  Other than that, the wedding was perfect !

A beach wedding in Santa Monica, Little Corona del Mar, and a Wedding at Orange Hill Restaurant by Suvin

Image

Jaronica and Darryl came from Georgia and Missouri, respectively, to have their ceremony in the sands of Santa Monica

It was a beautiful day, and they got married at the perfect time, catching the golden hour for the sunset. The entire family surrounded them on the beach, and surrounded them in love. They had a Christian ceremony, sprinkled with a little bit of humor here and there. They did not want to write their own vows, but still wanted a personal touch. I advised them to share some words with each other right before the conclusion of the ceremony. Nothing formal, nothing written down, just a few loving words straight from the heart.

We delivered the marriage license also! This saved them a trip down to the county clerk’s office since they were in town just for a few days.

Congrats to the happy couple.

On a warm July day, Hala and Nicholas tied the knot overlooking the amazing view provided by the Orange Hill Restaurant.. I met this awesome couple at the Orange Hill Bridal Show, and they wanted to incorporate some Arabic traditions with some Christian elements. They did not want it too heavy handed though. I recommended we have a reading from Rumi and 1st Corinthians. A quick wedding prayer at the end of the ceremony tied everything nicely together.

Although it was a warm day, everyone enjoyed. They had a large wedding party complete with friends and family, and look at that beautiful walkway!

Brittany and Vincent had an intimate ceremony at Little Corona Del Mar, one of my favorite beaches.

They had a trying situation, Brittany’s mother has stage 4 bone cancer. In situations like this, I was happy to donate my services to this loving couple. They traveled all the way from Vegas so mom could experience this moment. They were able to have the ceremony of their dreams in front of their family on this gorgeous summer evening. They were able to catch the sunset as well.

I performed a Christian based ceremony with a sand blending. Sand Ceremonies are such a cool addition to beach ceremonies. It really captures the vibe of the moment, and it is a perfect expression of two people’s lives joining into one.

3 Awesome Weddings, one at the Summit House in Fullerton, one at Orange Hill Restaurant in Orange, and a Beach Wedding at Heisler Park Gazebo in Laguna Beach

Image

Ever since they met, Mark Jimenez and Lisa Tone have celebrated life and love with gusto. ¬†They value family and friends as the best blessing from above. ¬†So their wedding ceremony at the Summit House in Fullerton featured all that and more! ¬†They selected Rev. Dr. Gary Barmore of Great Officiants to plan with them and carry out a wedding of romance, commitment, faith and joy. ¬†The guests were particularly pleased to be asked for their affirmation of the couple, and they did just that with enthusiasm. ¬†Following personal “love letters” expressed to one another Lisa and Mark recited vows led by Rev. Gary. ¬†As they repeated each phrase, eyes locked on eyes, Mark and Lisa drifted physically closer and closer to each other, until at about six inches, Gary interjected, “Can’t kiss ’til vows are finished.” ¬†The couple and the crowd loved the moment … and even more the moment when they did embrace and engage in the holy kiss of marriage.¬†

Marco Corona and Aleena Huber, very much in love, planned meticulously for their wedding day. ¬†Most importantly they (1) reserved the ballroom and outdoor chapel at Orange Hill Restaurant, and (2) Through Great Officiants booked Rev.Dr. Gary Barmore to lead the marriage ceremony. ¬† They liked Gary’s open-minded Christian faith, his vocal energy, and the fact that they could meet with him at his home for planning and getting better acquainted. ¬† Then came the swift wild-fires in and around Tustin and Orange, bringing fear and devastation to so many. ¬† Rev. Gary contacted Marco and asked if they needed his help in finding another wedding venue. ¬†Is Orange Hill Restaurant still standing? ¬†Fortunately although the grounds were threatened and the staff prepared for evacuation, this classic site for dining and parties was spared. ¬†And by October 21 at 5pm, most of the smokey haze was gone and the sunset was beautiful. ¬† While our hearts went out to all those who suffered loss in the fires, it all worked out wonderfully for Aleena and Marco and their guests. ¬†The couple’s handsome beauty, plus their education and determination, mixed with a willingness to listen and consider the other’s perspective bodes really well for their life together in marriage.

Amy Kayl and Corey Madsen first met 26 years ago, but at age nineteen she declined his proposal of marriage. ¬†Going their separate ways, each remembered the power of their attraction and wondered what happened to their long-lost beloved. ¬† By means of the modern-day cupid — Facebook — they reconnected. ¬†Love’s fire blazed anew, and next to the baggage claim at John Wayne Airport, Corey dropped to one knee and popped the question — followed by Amy’s excited “yes!” ¬†Their favorite Bible verse, of course, is “Love Never Fails.” ¬†So for this greatest love, this couple selected the “Greatest Wedding” from Alan Katz’ Great Officiants. ¬†Alan’s crew secured the spectacular Gazebo in Laguna Beach, had it beautifully decorated, and suggested Rev.Dr. Gary Barmore to plan with them and conduct the ceremony. ¬† After meeting with Gary, Corey and Amy knew all the perfect pieces were in place. ¬† When the ceremony began at 2pm October 27, their was a mystical cloud-bank over the ocean, and then when the vows were being exchanged, the fog lifted and glorious sunshine sparkled the water and lit up the wedding site. ¬† For this dear couple and their guests, it was truly “The Greatest.”

Jonathon Linn and Kristy Gallegos were married at Orange Hill Restaurant on 7/7/17 in the style they had always dreamed of

Image

Jonathon Linn and Kristy Gallegos were married at Orange Hill Restaurant on 7/7/17 in the style they had always dreamed of.  The setting was beautiful, over-looking the valley as evening lights came on.  The tough part was finding a minister who fit their faith and philosophy of life.  So they turned to Great Officiants of Long Beach and were connected with Rev. Dr. Gary Barmore.   After meeting in his home for planning the ceremony and getting acquainted, they knew that they would enjoy the experience and be very proud before family and friends.  While neither Kristy nor Jonathon are fully bi-lingual, when Rev. Gary asked them to repeat some of the ring (anillo) vows in Spanish, they did so beautifully, to the surprised delight of both Anglo and Latino guests.   Once again, Great Officiants served a marrying couple really well.

A Total Surprise Wedding For The Bride

Image

Roger got to be part of a very cool surprise for an unsuspecting bride this last weekend. ¬†You see Carlos and Anna have been married for 20 years and Carlos wanted to celebrate their love for one another by renewing their vows once again after two decades together‚Ķ‚Ķbut he wanted to do it as a surprise for her on the beach. ¬†So Carlos had set up the perfect plan. ¬†He arranged it all thru the The Victorian, an amazing restaurant in Santa Monica and they would set up the chairs and such on the beach. ¬†Now to get Anna there and surprise her‚Ķ‚Ķ And this is where the genius of the plan came into play‚Ķ. You see Anna was going to be on the beach getting some pictures taken by a family friend (who was in on the surprise) and this family friend was ‚Äúcasually‚ÄĚ going to walk her over to the area where Roger and all their friends and family would be waiting and surprise her with the wedding. ¬†But they didn‚Äôt want her to notice the assembly of friends and family‚Ķ. So the photographer friend had her walk backwards for probably a couple hundred feet and she never saw it until she was right on top of it ! ¬†It worked perfect and she was overwhelmed. A beautiful wedding !! ¬†And Roger topped it off with an amazing ceremony. ¬†It was a great day. ¬† Roger told Carlos the only downside to this wonderful day was that Carlos set the bar really high for every married man out there ! ¬† Touche‚Äô Carlos !
