The Safest Wedding Roger Has Ever Officiated

Roger married a wonderful couple, Eric & Lindsay this last weekend at the always beautiful Los Verdes Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes.  It was a wonderful wedding and the ceremony was perfect !!  But Roger started this wedding off differently this particular time……Now, normally Roger doesn’t ask the question “who objects to this wedding today?”, but in this case, the groom Eric wanted it asked…..  You see the groom Eric and his ENTIRE batch of groomsmen were ALL Costa Mesa Police Officers !!  So when Roger asked “Is there anyone here that has just cause for this couple not to be united?”  Then at that point, Roger simply said “gentleman” and ALL the groomsmen and the groom pulled back their suit jackets to show that they were ALL carrying their service weapons !!  Funny, nobody objected !!  It got a great laugh and was the perfect start to a very funny and romantic wedding !!

The wedding of Alejandra and Kenny was an intimate affair at the South Coast Botanical Gardens in Rancho Palos Verdes

Few settings calm and feed the spirit more than a well tended garden. There is a gentleness, freshness and peace that refreshes and lifts us from the noise and demands of urban life. What more fitting place for a two people to gather with their loved ones and inaugurate their life as a married couple?

This past Saturday at 3:30 in the afternoon, I had enjoyed the beauty of South Coast Botanical Gardens in Rancho Palos Verdes. The gardens are open to the public and several couples have selected this venue because of its beauty, understated elegance and the peaceful energy of nature.

The wedding of Alejandra and Kenny was an intimate affair. Their family, relatives and friends sat in the amphitheater under a canopy of trees. One of the flower girls giggled and pointed to a rabbit, who was nibbling on some shrubs. Alejandra and Kenny exchanged personal vows, rings and started their life as a couple with the traditional kiss.

A Very Emotional and Loving Wedding

rogerkellyemalee
Roger was honored to marry Kelly & Emalee this last weekend at the unbelievable Terranea, one of the most spectacular ocean view resorts here in Southern California.  The wedding was on the bluff over looking the ocean and the alter was covered in Magnolia flowers in remembrance of Kelly’s brother who had passed on.  So before even starting the ceremony, Roger had a brief moment of silence for his brother and then led the ceremony to a beautiful conclusion !!  It was both emotional and loving !!

For Lynette Wegley and Rick Ellis it was the 1964 Prom of Redondo Beach High School all over again, but BETTER!  They were married May 1, 2016 at the Los Verdes Golf Course Country Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, having each been happily married to another before “death did them part.”  Then Rick and Lynette found each other again, and Redondo Beach friends and family, as well as others from afar, joined the happy couple in the celebration of true love re-discovered.  Rev Dr Gary Barmore of Great Officiants planned with them the ceremony and led it to the delight and inspiration of all.

Oh no! Where’s the wine box for the ceremony?

Lauren and Anthony got married today at Los Verdes Country club. Everything was going fine until we realized that they left the wine box for the wine box and love letter ceremony at home.
So thanks to the great staff at Los Verdes we improvised a new box, a bottle of wine and some empty envelopes that were used as props.

The ceremony was an amazing celebration. They had a bagpipe player. He played as the bride entered and the couple left. Just before they walked down the aisle together a little flower girl presented them with a beautifully ordained and decorated horse shoe.

This venue is a beautiful place to get married at.

Last Minute Changes for a Nervous Bride and an Emotional Groom……..

Roger married Darryl & Maria this last Saturday at the always beautiful Los Verdes Golf Course. Things got a little crazy the night before the wedding when suddenly the layout and schedule for the ceremony took an about face on how and when things were to happen. But fortunately, the DJ, the coordinator and Roger all pulled together and made it happen! The ceremony went off without a hitch! Plus, this couple really touched Roger. The two times Roger met with them, the bride Maria was very bubbly and excited and the groom Darryl was quiet and reserved. But as soon as the ceremony started, it was Darryl the groom who already had tears in his eyes and continued through out the entire ceremony. It was the most beautiful sight. This tall, man’s man, overwhelmed with emotion standing in front of the love of his life. And Roger got to be part of it. This is why we do this.

Marie was really happy with the wedding too!! She had these kind words to say…

"Roger thank you so much for everything! The ceremony was unforgettable and truly the best part. Thank you for making it such a special moment for us! And thank you for those pictures (Roger always takes pictures of the witnesses signing the license and sends them to the bride & groom) they are ones we will cherish forever as well as the amazing words."
