Jorge & Daniel’s wedding and reception took place at Luminarias in Monterey Park. Both were held inside one of their ball rooms which allowed us to perform the unity candle, one of my favorite traditions!

We adapted our Catholic lite ceremony to their needs by customizing it and translating it to Spanish.

Before we began the ceremony I had the opportunity to sit down and spend some quality time with Jorge’s mom, Marta, who is the sweetest and kindest lady ever! She kept insisting that I stayed for the reception, which I would’ve loved, but had a rehearsal to get to.

It truly is a higher level experience when we have some extra time to bond with family members and friends!

Jorge and Daniel I wish you both all the blessings in the world and send you all my love! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your big day!

Octavio Performs a Brilliant Combo Ceremony at Luminarias in Monterey Park

Image

IMG_0527
This couple is just amazing in every way! Lee and Miriam tied the knot at Luminarias in Monterey Park. I've lost count of how many weddings I've done in this venue and the employees there are absolutely fabulous!

I call this my combo wedding because they did not have a day-of coordinator therefore asked me to come for the rehearsal the day before their wedding.

Their bridal party was pretty big but we made it work perfectly! The rehearsal took a little over an hour and I made sure we practiced it over and over so that on the day of their wedding everything came out very formal which is my preferred style of doing a ceremony.

Lee and Miriam thank you so much for being so wonderful, kind, friendly, and giving me the opportunity to not only helping you with your rehearsal but also the honor of officiating your wedding ceremony! I send you both all my love, Best wishes, and all the blessings in the world!

A Great Wedding at Luminarias in Monterey Park

Image

Elena & Erin H. - 06.27.15
Congratulations to Elena Leon & Erin Higgs on their June 27, 2015 wedding at the Luminarias Restaurant in Monterey Park, CA.  It was a great day for a wedding with Erin and groomsman all “decked out” in their kilts.  A traditional entrance and a “piping” close with the Bagpipes leading the recessional.

From Luminarias' website:

"Feel on top of the world in beautiful San Gabriel Valley where the 710/10 freeway's meet, Luminarias restaurant shines brightly on the hilliside of Monterey Park with striking views, a tropical atmosphere, glamorous event spaces, unrivaled service, traditional Mexican dining and all-inclusive planning."

Octavio Customizes a Lovely Ceremony for a Lovely Couple at Luminarias in Monterey Park

IMG_0269
Cynthia & Tony are a rocking couple! The three of us were together at , like I do with most of my couples, in designing a custom my ceremony. The end result was a bilingual ceremony at Luminarias with a few tweaks that represented the couple in a more personal way.

Cynthia and Tony both love tequila! So we decided to do the wine ceremony but instead of doing it with wine we changed the words and made it with tequila.  It was both customized in hilarious! When we got to that part of the ceremony and I started saying the words all the wedding guests started laughing out loud!

Tony acted like a veteran! He sprained his ankle a couple of months before the wedding, and had to have surgery. Even though he could barely stand, let alone walk, he still walked down the aisle and stood there throughout the ceremony. He even held their baby through the beginning of the ceremony! I don't know how he did it but my guess is that the love he has for Cynthia is so strong that it completely blocked out any pain he was feeling.

They both looked so amazing! The minute I saw them holding hands and looking into each others eyes, the words just started pouring out of me! Cindy and Tony I wish you both all the blessings in the world and my love to you and your family! Tony I hope your recovery is fast and you're able to be back on your feet ASAP!

After 13 years, The Knot was tied at Luminarias in Monterey Park

IMG_0179
Tanya & Marco have been together for 13 years! They clearly love each other and are perfect for each other. They have a beautiful family but had never had the chance to get married until now.

They tied the knot at Luminarias over in Monterey Park. I feel like I'm becoming the official officiant for that venue, LOL. I love all the employees there and it is pretty close to my house so there isn't a travel fee. Everybody there is very professional and warm.

Tanya, Marco, and I worked together to design a bilingual nondenominational ceremony and we also included the Mothers Rose presentation. For the ceremony the mariachis played one song for the groom and bridal party and then started playing "El Son de la Negra" for Tanya to walk down the isle with her parents. This is one of my favorite mariachi songs! They used the same song after the pronouncement and as the couple started walking out the aisle the mariachis exited right behind them serenading them throughout the way.

Tanya and Marco are such an amazing couple and they have the most beautiful family I have ever seen! The entire process from the minute we met up until we finished the ceremony was literally a magical experience for me!

Tanya & Marco, let the fun begin! Marriage will be the easiest and funnest part of your long lasting relationship. I wish you both all the blessings in the world! Hugs!

Double Wedding Weekend for Rev. Ralph

Screen Shot 2015-05-18 at 10.08.20 AM
It was a double wedding weekend for Rev. Ralph, as he married Amalia & Rafael at Luminarias on Friday afternoon, and Jane & Simon on Sunday at their home in Mar Vista. Both ceremonies were joyous and full of smiling faces and laughter!

Do not fear, Great Officiants are here!

It's a nice day for a wet wedding! Berenice and Gabriel got married at Luminarias in Monterey Park. It was a rainy day and Gabriel asked me "What if starts raining?". I told him "Do not worry my man, the show must go on. If it rains we will just get wet."

For all of you wonderful couples out there, if your wedding is outdoors and it happens to rain, then the more beautiful I will make it. We Great Officiants incorporate everything that is out of everyone's control into our ceremonies by making a quick joke or a poetic comment suck as "…and the Angels are crying of joy to see you two tying the knot". Do not fear, Great Officiants are here!

It rained a bit throughout this beautiful ceremony but we all just went with it and I made sure everyone forgot about the fact it was raining by performing an unforgettable ceremony.

We chose our Catholic Lite ceremony with the Lasso, Coin, and Mothers' Rose Presentation, a personal favorite. It turned out great!!!

Gabriel and Berenice, I wish you all the blessings in the world!!!
