On Saturday August 27th2016, Great Officiant Greg and Great Officiant Beth had the honor and pleasure of marrying Tim and Kristen Tristen Allegaert at the Tonga Hut, a Ultra-Kool 1958 Tiki-style bar and restaurant in Palm Springs California!  This was a real treat as it is such a unique venue for a wedding and reception!

The happy couple selected the “Aloha” ceremony.  As Aloha means love in Hawaiian (as well as hello, goodbye, and other things) so it was the perfect match for the Tonga Hut.  Great Officiant Beth, Greg’s wife, blew the conch shell prior to the ceremony.  The blowing of the shell signals the start of a new journey, and scares off evil spirits and crazy relatives and friends!  Greg was happy to have his wife Beth play the conch as she is really an expert!  Due to a freak Frisbee accident when he was a young man, Greg can no longer play the conch shell successfully.

However, Great Officiant Greg did a fantastic job with the Aloha ceremony!  Don Ho would have been impressed!   It was fun, loving, funny and full of Aloha!

Many thanks to the staff of the Tonga Hut for their help, and thanks to Great officiant Beth for the fabulous Leis!  Beth’s company Lei of Love is the preferred florist of Great Officiants.

All of the staff at Great Officiants wish Tim and Kristen many years of Aloha with their life together.

“Hau`oli la Ho’omana’o (Happy Anniversary)” to Gabrielle and Jesse

"Hau`oli la Ho'omana'o (Happy Anniversary)" to Gabrielle and Jesse who sent this wonderful note along with two photos taken during their Hawaiian-Style ceremony:

"Hi Mauricio… We have had a wonderful first year of marriage and think about our wedding all the time. It was perfect and we just wish that we could do it all over again. You officiated the most beautiful ceremony for us and we couldn't have wished for a more perfect day… Thank you again for bringing all of our hopes for the ceremony to fruition."

One of the Hawaiian ritual observances featured in Gabrielle's and Jesse's wedding involved Great Officiant A. Mauricio pouring Pacific Ocean water into a Koa Wood bowl, He then dipped the leaf of a Ti Plant into the water and used it to sprinkle the water on the rings as a form of blessing. This was introduced with a tradition Hawaiian chant using a melody he composed especially for the occasion.

Aloha, Gabrielle and Jesse!

Officiant Beth Prevents Ring Disaster!

Eula Mei & Jon Paul

Married on Saturday August 30th at Roessler Point Gazebo in Palos Verdes.

Eula and Jon_2

It was a beautiful day as friends and family from California and Hawaii joined the couple for their wedding ceremony. My first surprise was when the Mother of the Groom gave me a Cigar Lei straight from Hawaii. What a great honor (see orange lei on Beth Gates Officiant)! The next surprise occurred when the best man dropped the groom's ring. As it rolled toward the cliff, I stopped it before it could roll off and be gone forever! Even with a little excitement it was a beautiful and sweet wedding and I had the honor of receiving the spirit of Aloha with the gift of my lei!

Aloha until next time!

Roger Gets Lei’d by Beth

Great Officiants does many Hawaiian Ceremonies on the Beach. Roger has a traditional Hawaiian Ceremony coming up soon, so our lei maker and fellow Officiant Beth, made Roger a lei to use.

In addition to stringing fresh leis, Beth is also our Beach Wedding Coordinator for Hawaiian and Traditional Beach Ceremonies, Officiant for Great Offficiants, and Florist for her company Lei of Love.

Thank you Beth!

The Queen the Don and Oh Maya

Did some Great Wedding Ceremonies this weekend.

Ana and Thomas Got married at the Awesome Hotel Maya in Long Beach. It was a celebration of love and laughter. It started late because one of their Parents were late, so I went out and entertained the crowd while they waited for it to begin. I was the warm act act. LOL.

Randy and Linda got married at Don the Beachcomber in Sunset Beach. I did a modified Hawaiian ceremony for them. What a beautiful tropical place to get married.

Kari and Ulf booked a huge suite on the Queen Mary Ship (my recomendation) and with just some close family they exchanged vows in their candle lit room.

We have a special “Wed and Bed” package set with them. Call us for the special code.
