A beach wedding in Santa Monica, Little Corona del Mar, and a Wedding at Orange Hill Restaurant by Suvin

Image

Jaronica and Darryl came from Georgia and Missouri, respectively, to have their ceremony in the sands of Santa Monica

It was a beautiful day, and they got married at the perfect time, catching the golden hour for the sunset. The entire family surrounded them on the beach, and surrounded them in love. They had a Christian ceremony, sprinkled with a little bit of humor here and there. They did not want to write their own vows, but still wanted a personal touch. I advised them to share some words with each other right before the conclusion of the ceremony. Nothing formal, nothing written down, just a few loving words straight from the heart.

We delivered the marriage license also! This saved them a trip down to the county clerk’s office since they were in town just for a few days.

Congrats to the happy couple.

On a warm July day, Hala and Nicholas tied the knot overlooking the amazing view provided by the Orange Hill Restaurant.. I met this awesome couple at the Orange Hill Bridal Show, and they wanted to incorporate some Arabic traditions with some Christian elements. They did not want it too heavy handed though. I recommended we have a reading from Rumi and 1st Corinthians. A quick wedding prayer at the end of the ceremony tied everything nicely together.

Although it was a warm day, everyone enjoyed. They had a large wedding party complete with friends and family, and look at that beautiful walkway!

Brittany and Vincent had an intimate ceremony at Little Corona Del Mar, one of my favorite beaches.

They had a trying situation, Brittany’s mother has stage 4 bone cancer. In situations like this, I was happy to donate my services to this loving couple. They traveled all the way from Vegas so mom could experience this moment. They were able to have the ceremony of their dreams in front of their family on this gorgeous summer evening. They were able to catch the sunset as well.

I performed a Christian based ceremony with a sand blending. Sand Ceremonies are such a cool addition to beach ceremonies. It really captures the vibe of the moment, and it is a perfect expression of two people’s lives joining into one.

Another beach wedding for Great Officiant Greg!

Image

Ashley Maye and Michael 1
Great Officiant Greg had the pleasure of marrying Michael and Ashley Maye Valvatne on Saturday, July 30th “on the sand” in Long Beach, California.  It was an absolutely gorgeous crystal-clear day, perfect for a beach wedding!

The event actually started on Friday with a full rehearsal “on the sand”.  With eleven bridesmaids and eleven groomsmen, the rehearsal was a must.  Everyone had great fun with the run through, which took two and a half attempts to get it right!

Ashley Maye was just stunning, beautiful and so happy!  Mike looked so handsome in his special tuxedo.  All the bridesmaids in their coral gowns were beautiful too, and the groomsmen in their tuxedos looked so handsome (and so different than the Friday rehearsal!)  Great Officiant Beth, the preferred florist for Great Officiants, had a logistics challenge with so many bouquets and boutonnieres for this very large party.  Beth also supplied the exquisite archway piece, which doubled as the sweetheart table floral arrangement at Mike and Ashley Maye’s reception at The Petroleum Club in Long Beach.

The happy couple selected “The Christian Ceremony” which was tailored for Mike and Ashley Maye.  Although a serious religious ceremony, Great Officiant Greg made it loving and fun.  The marriage was attended by a very large group of friends and family, some traveling a very long distance.  The bride, groom, their parents and many friends commented to Greg how much they enjoyed his presentation of the ceremony.

The happy couple will travel to Bora-Bora for their honeymoon!  Now that is really special!

Many thanks to Great Officiant Beth for the beautiful flowers and acting as the wedding coordinator.  And of course a big thank you to Suvin and all the staff at Great Officiants for the set-up and preparation.

Everyone at Great Officiants wish Mike and Ashley Maye much love and happiness in their future together!

A Golf Course Resort Wedding for Great Officiant Greg!

Image

Great Officiant Greg had the honor and pleasure of marrying Robert and Rita Bont at the beautiful SkyLinks Golf Course on Sunday, May 15, 2016.  The course and club, located “across the street” from the Long Beach Airport (Known as Daughtery Field in the Donald Douglas days and named a City of Long Beach Cultural Heritage Landmark in 1990), made it easy for the bride’s grandfather to fly from Istanbul, Turkey for the wedding!  What a great joy!

The Christian Ceremony, customized by Great Officiant Greg was religious but fun and filled with happiness.  The outdoor setting with the gorgeous waterfall and acres and acres of green links of the course makes a wonderful site for a wedding. Of course, the happy couple and the wedding party on golf carts after the ceremony left for a “secret” spot for pictures.

Many thanks to Sidney DeLancy, the coordinator at SkyLinks and the sound coordinator DJ Ceaser Flores for their help and assistance with the beautiful wedding.

All of us at Great Officiants wish Rita and Robert all the joy, love and happiness in their married life together!

An Emotional Ceremony at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello

Pat and Henry were such a fun loving couple. Since the first time we met, they had a great sense of humor, and they were obviously madly in love. They requested a Christian inspired ceremony, and i was happy to perform their ceremony at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello.

Richard of Mijo Entertainment provided an awesome speaker with microphone, which ensured the successful delivery of my performance celebrating Pat and Henry’s love.

Instead of a guestbook, they had a canvas with some colors, requesting their guests to place their fingerprint and signature on their tree of love. During their hand blessing, I incorporated that not only are their fingers and lives joined in unity, but they have left their fingerprint on each other’s lives.

The ceremony brought laughs, tears, and love to the couple and their guests.

New Zealand Couple Travel around the Globe for Great Officiant wedding!

The lovely young couple, Jecoba and John, traveled all the way from New Zealand with their parents and siblings in order to have their wedding on a lovely Monday afternoon near the lighthouse in Long Beach.  Reverend Ralph enjoyed meeting these wonderful people, and performing a short-but-sweet Christian ceremony.

Two Beach Weddings, Same Beach, One Hour Apart OH YEAH!

Today was a lucky day for two couples and a lucky day for me. Both couples were staying at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort Huntington Beach. Both couples wanted a beach wedding, both from out of the area, one from Sacramento, and the other from the East Coast. But it was their desire to get married on the beach, and as it work out for me, it was on the same day, same beach! The first couple had a joyous Catholic Lite ceremony.

The second couple a nice Christian ceremony. While both couples ceremonies were so different in so many ways, the love they shared for each other, was so obvious, and evident. I love being barefoot in the sand helping couples exchange their vows, that’s what being a great Officiant is all about.
