A Bride Forgets Her Vows In The Middle Of A Lemon Grove…………

Image

Roger had the honor of marrying Albert & Victoria this last weekend at one of Roger’s favorite wedding venues.  Limoneira Ranch out in Santa Paula.  Not a lot of people know about this gem of a wedding venue out in the middle of agriculture country in Ventura County.  Not only is the wedding venue extraordinary but the venue is in the middle of a large scale working lemon grove !  And when Roger says in the middle, you are literally surrounded by lemon trees !  In fact, the venue invites wedding guests to wander into the grove and pick their limit of lemons !  And by now, all the rain cloud clouds had dissipated and it was a beautiful afternoon for a wedding.  And the wedding was going along perfectly…………up to the point where the bride & groom were to read their own vows to each other.  Just as Roger invited Albert the groom to read his vows, Roger noticed that the bride Victoria suddenly waved to the Maid Of Honor and whispered something……..well it didn’t take a genius to figure out that the bride forgot her vows !!  So the maid of honor excuses herself and signals to the coordinator Abby to help and off goes Abby running to find them.  Roger sees what is happening behind all the guests so he quickly on the spot adds more to the ceremony to give time for the vows to make their way up to Victoria without skipping a beat !  She reads her well planned vows and it goes off perfectly !  A beautiful wedding !

Calamigos’s Ranch was the perfect venue for Golan and Tannia

Calamigos’s Ranch was the perfect venue for Golan and Tannia

After meeting the couple at the venue during one of the many shows Great Officiants attend, I was fortunate enough to meet them there.  When I asked who was doing performing their wedding, the said that they were looking for a rabbi who would be willing to marry an interfaith couple.  It wasn’t too difficult for us to bond within minutes.

The fun thing about their wedding was a friend of theirs was asked to speak the Spanish parts of the prayers and other important elements.  I was able to send him the English and we had a trilingual ceremony.

Being that Tannia was from Mexico and Golan, from Israel, you would think it was difficult to see the two families meld into one.

Here is a neat preview video right before the ceremony:

Congratulations to Siuna Morales & Neevon Esmaili on their November 19, 2016 wedding at the Oak Room at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA.  It was a perfect day for a wedding in Malibu and the timing was just around sunset outdoors in front of a beautiful rock waterfall.  It was a traditional ceremony to which they added the “Love Lock Tree.”  Love Lock are a symbol of love and commitment which have been inspired by an ancient custom.  The custom was started in Europe in the early 2000’s where love padlocks were affixed to a fence, gate or bridge to symbolize a couples everlasting love.  In this ceremony, the locks are affixed to a metal Love Lock Tree.  Their parents also affixed their locks in support of the couples intent to marry.  It added a nice dimension to the ceremony!

This Wedding Had One Individual That Objected….

Roger married Jason & Lanie at the always wonderful Calamigos Ranch this last Saturday and they brought their adorable little dog Bizou to the ceremony.  The ceremony was fantastic !  A beautiful, romantic setting with a fitting ceremony to match…  The only problem is that their loving dog Bizou wanted his mommy & daddy and was not at all happy about sitting just as a guest for the wedding!  He wanted to be part of the wedding…. So, he proceeded to bark his disapproval, not of the wedding but him not being a part of it !  Still all in all, his barking added to the festivities !

The spectacular View, as I drove the winding road to Green Mountain Ranch in Lytle Creek

The spectacular View, as I drove the winding road to Green Mountain Ranch in Lytle Creek, through the canyons into the San Bernardino National Forest, ensured a very special wedding. And the uniting of PT Traymany with his beautiful bride Laura Perez Traymany brought together Catholics and Buddhists, Hispanics and Laotians in their traditional wedding dresses, former Marines and LAPD officers, and had Great Officiants Rev. Mike McKay translating portions of the ceremony into Spanish, Laotian, Buddhist, Marine, and Police Jargon.

A Wizard Of Oz Happy Ending With Their Dog Toto…….

This last Sunday Roger married a wonderful couple Nolan & Susu at the always amazing Calamigos Ranch in Malibu.  If you have never wandered the grounds at this wonderful venue, make plans to do so !  They are always so professional and will bend over backwards to make sure their brides and grooms have a wonderful wedding.  And it was not only a wonderful wedding but also very emotional too.  You see, they had told Roger that they were going have their loving dog Toto participate in their wedding.  Roger, being a giant dog fan, was all on board.  But about a week or so before the wedding, their poor little dog Toto was attacked by a coyote.  They were able to save him but they tearfully told Roger that he would not be able to attend due to his injuries and could Roger re-write the ceremony without him……..  Well, there is a special God that looks out for moments like this and somehow Toto recuperated quicker that anybody imagined.  They called Roger the night before and asked is there was anyway that he could add Toto back into the ceremony and even though Roger had printed out the version without Toto, he gladly re-wrote it that very night, re-printed it out just to make sure that this miracle was celebrated !  It was an amazing ceremony and Toto got a standing ovation in his “tuxedo” !   Ruff !!  The couple loved the ceremony !!

Winter Wonderland Wedding at Green Mountain Ranch in Lytle Creek

Image

When I first met with Vincent and Carmen I knew I was the only one who could do their wedding. We had so much fun designing the ceremony. They got married at Green Mountain Ranch in Lytle Creek which is about 5 miles off the 15 freeway going up into the hills above San Bernardino.

They decided to have a winter wonderland theme. And there decorators to the wonderful job bring it to life. Due to the rain they had to move it inside but still the ambience was perfect.
I started off the ceremony by lighting a memorial candle to give honor to the relatives who have passed.

Once the entire bridal party was up there and the couple was holding hands I broke into song. I sang a modified version of the song “Winter Wonderland” but changed it to “Wedding Wonderland. The wedding party and the guests loved it.

After the vows, when we got to the I do’s, they each wrote three silly I do’s that the other had to agree to. This got a ton of laughter.

After the rings they did the wine box and love letter ceremony where they put some love letters and wine into a box and on their one year anniversary will open the box read the love letters and drinking the wine.

Then to make sure that their love was real we did a Potion Ceremony. They each had two vials of different colored water in which they poured them into the magical treetrunk. If their love was true, then steam would rise up from the trunk (Of course the trunk was filled with dry ice).

I did some wonderful closing comments and then pronounced them husband and wife.

It was such an amazing day for me in them and I will always remember their wedding.
