Roger was very excited to be marrying Daniel & Liz that last weekend. They had been at a few of his previous weddings and knew that they wanted him for their wedding. And what made this doubly special is that the wedding was being held at the Beverly Garland in Studio City just a couple miles from Roger’s house and the Beverly Garland is also a regular haunt for Roger and his family having had Thanksgiving dinners there on more than one occasion.
The only possible issue is that Daniel and Liz wanted streamers thrown by the guests as they walked down the aisle as husband & wife. The problem was that the venue doesn’t allow streamers !! And Roger only found this out as he was just walking up the aisle to perform the ceremony whispered to him by the wedding coordinator….. So at the end of the amazing ceremony, Roger made the announcement about the streamers but also everyone needed to pick up after themselves after the wedding……….Well that didn’t happen……… except for one groomsman………and Roger !!! It didn’t take long for the two of them to clean up and the groomsman was taken aback that the minister of the wedding was cleaning up too !! Roger…… A Great Officiant and Groundskeeper !!!
Roger has married many a couple at the extraordinary La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes and it never fails to impress. Not only are the views amazing but the staff there is always top notch. From Brian the parking director to Sharla the on site wedding coordinator, always a great team! Plus with Susan as their wedding coordinator, they were in good hands. Aaron and Britny, the wedding couple, who flew in from Missouri for the wedding wanted a light hearted ceremony with lots of laughs and heartfelt moments and boy did they get it! The both of them were cracking jokes thru the entire ceremony trying to make each other laugh and then they both tried to get Roger to break as well… And Roger being the professional that he is, held it together… sort of! Laughs were had all around!
Megan Cai and Kevin Courtney, with friends and family cheering, recited their marriage vows at the Huntington Beach Hilton overlooking the great Pacific Ocean. In their long courtship, Kevin and Megan traveled across that ocean to her homeland of China ten times! With homes both in Irvine and Hawaii, of course, the trip to Asia is cut into two manageable halves, and the happy couple plan to keep flying around the globe to exotic locations. The weather was perfect for the ceremony, the harpist played beautifully, and Rev Gary Barmore of Great Officiants, according the the bride and groom, offered just the right words and feelings for the auspicious occasion.
The couple had family fly in from Germany and India to enjoy
this special occasion. Suvin worked with the couple and the family directly to
create a customized ceremony. It incorporated many Hindu elements that are
common, such as the fire blessing and seven steps, but it also included many
western traditions as well.
As usual, Suvin thoroughly explained each tradition, and
even translated the Sanskrit portions!
With a good combination of wit, humor, and crown
involvement, Suvin was able to make their day memorable and enjoyable.
Roger had the honor of marrying JR and Fritzie at the always beautiful Westin Hotel in Costa Mesa this last weekend. It was a wonderful wedding and JR and Fritzie are perfect for each other. They had told Roger that they wanted a fun filled wedding with lots of the traditions from their culture, so there would be many sponsors and family members helping out with the ceremony. Roger said no problem, the more the merrier! He didn’t realize just how many until he saw the bridal processional lined up for the wedding, it was a record breaker!!

Connie and Deb are such special ladies they have been together for 21 years and at last they were united in holy union it was a well-planned major event family and friends came from Iowa Northern California and as close as from next-door to Celebrate. We were blessed with a beautiful perfect California day, slightly breezy and 75* temperature. Connie and Deb are so well loved by all who know them. The whole community came together and gifted the glorious celebration while insisting on helping from the wedding cake and cupcakes made by a neighbor to music / sound system, flowers and photography all was covered . Thanks to Midge for her awesome skills of keeping it all together and on point . Officiant Lisa was joined by others as they sang beautiful special selected songs. And others did readings from Scripture this was a very heart felt beautifully orchestrated ceremony. Everyone’s hearts were filled with joy for Connie and Deb. We wish these ladies a beautiful happy future filled with abundance and yes dreams do come true Bravo
On September 30, 2017, a dream came true in Malibu, California. High, very high on top of the world, Mark and Lorna became united in matrimony. They are from two different continents… When Lorna arrived in the United States from Ireland she had a deep feeling, a yearning in her soul – she knew that her husband was waiting for her her in America. Mark was that man! Yes, a soulmate, it’s true. They met at Melrose Café in West Hollywood, California – it was intense and instant, “just like a magnet”, as Lorna says. From that day forward they never left one another’s side! They fell deeply, madly in LOVE.
Great Officiants Lisa Smith had the honor and pleasure of working with these beautiful souls. She composed and delivered the perfect heartfelt Light Catholic Ceremony, combined with our Unity Candle Ceremony.. Lorna’s Mum brought special candles from Ireland for this part. The Irish musicians were performing beautiful soft Celtic music in the background – it sounded like angels were present, peaceful and serene. Love was truly in the air. All of Lorna’s family traveled from Ireland to celebrate – even the family’s dog got to come! Mark’s mom and family, aunties, and cousins came from Texas. Unfortunately, Mark’s Mother broke her ankle. But that didn’t slow her down. Luckily Lorna is a Registered Nurse and knew exactly what to do to take care of her new Mother in Law (this was the first time they met!) The good news is, she will be ok. She was so excited for her only Son that she said she felt no pain. The ceremony was concluded with cheerful Irish Celtic music throughout the evening. Everyone dined and celebrated under the stars overlooking the fabulous and beautiful Pacific Ocean. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. David – may their dreams continue to come true! Thank You so much for choosing Great Officiants.
