Roger….A Great Officiant & Groundskeeper!!

Image

Roger was very excited to be marrying Daniel & Liz that last weekend. They had been at a few of his previous weddings and knew that they wanted him for their wedding.  And what made this doubly special is that the wedding was being held at the Beverly Garland in Studio City just a couple miles from Roger’s house and the Beverly Garland is also a regular haunt for Roger and his family having had Thanksgiving dinners there on more than one occasion.

The only possible issue is that Daniel and Liz wanted streamers thrown by the guests as they walked down the aisle as husband & wife.  The problem was that the venue doesn’t allow streamers !!  And Roger only found this out as he was just walking up the aisle to perform the ceremony whispered to him by the wedding coordinator…..  So at the end of the amazing ceremony, Roger made the announcement about the streamers but also everyone needed to pick up after themselves after the wedding……….Well that didn’t happen……… except for one groomsman………and Roger !!!    It didn’t take long for the two of them to clean up and the groomsman was taken aback that the minister of the wedding was cleaning up too !!  Roger…… A Great Officiant and Groundskeeper !!!

Sunshine at Rancho Los Cerritos

Image

Tessa Silva and Brett Campbell live in the modern-design neighborhood of Marina del Rey, but for their wedding they chose the historic Rancho Los Cerritos adobe estate in Long Beach — ceremony in the plaza, cocktails on the terrace and dinner-reception on the tree-shaded lawn.  Through Great Officiants they secured the ministerial services of Rev Dr Gary Barmore, who planned with them and presided over their ceremony.  Brett and Tessa were thrilled that their wedding was both dignified and personal, both spiritual and earthy, presented with tenderness and strength.  Preceding the exchange of traditional vows the couple read love letters to each other, leaving few dry eyes among the guests.

Another Amazing Wedding at La Venta Inn

Image

Roger has married many a couple at the extraordinary La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes and it never fails to impress. Not only are the views amazing but the staff there is always top notch.  From Brian the parking director to Sharla the on site wedding coordinator, always a great team! Plus with Susan as their wedding coordinator, they were in good hands. Aaron and Britny, the wedding couple, who flew in from Missouri for the wedding wanted a light hearted ceremony with lots of laughs and heartfelt moments and boy did they get it! The both of them were cracking jokes thru the entire ceremony trying to make each other laugh and then they both tried to get Roger to break as well… And Roger being the professional that he is, held it together… sort of! Laughs were had all around!

The Great White North Meets the Socal Sand.

Image

Maple syrup is sweet and can go on many things but it is not as sweet as Mark and Tara‘s wedding at the Adamson House in Malibu, California.

I mention maple syrup because this couple came all the way from Canada to enjoy the warm weather and ocean views of Southern California at the Adamson House for their wedding ceremony.

This couple along with their family and friends are the nicest individuals and they all were enjoying the beautiful landscaped grounds of the Adamson House.

Holly Orr was the wedding planner and coordinator and she and her crew did an excellent job of preparing, organizing and making sure that all the fine details for the wedding and reception were set up to perfection. Holly and her crew were instrumental in making sure that the wedding ceremony started on time.

The day was perfect with clear blue sky‘s, wonderful weather and smiles from Mark and Tara and their guests that went on for ever and ever; and I was happy to be their Great Officiant.

The Pledge in Corona

Image

Caroline Ramirez and Robert Ahrendt selected as their minister Rev Dr Gary Barmore, provided through the wedding services of Great Officiants. Meeting at Gary’s Costa Mesa home for planning and building the inter-personal relationship, they indicated that their ceremony would take place at Robert’s Aunt Carol’s home in Corona. The good reverend drove on July 13 to what he expected to be aunt Carol’s modest but nice track home, yet instead found himself arriving at the rainbow-shaped driveway of a vast ranch-style home with a huge back yard and a magnificent gazebo beyond a lawn-surrounded pool. And wow, it was perfect for this attractive and exciting, yet quite unassuming, couple. With their five daughters adding beauty and grace to the processional, Caroline and Robert pledged their undying love within an outdoor paradise.

An Incredible Evening at Temecula Creek Inn

Image

Ashley and Philip chose the Rustic and quietly tucked away Temecula Creek Inn as the destination for their romantic wedding. Once guests arrived, they were taken in a shuttle to an even quieter and remote location, beautifully decorated and tranquil so their guests could truly enjoy themselves.

The rustic and beautiful Temecula Creek Inn

The ceremony was unplugged, so Wesley informed the guests to keep their phones put away and be present with Ashley and Philip as they were wed. Their genuine spark of love for each other was felt throughout the entire ceremony and on into the evening.

Two Down, One To Go…

Image

The wedding of Lovensky and Valeria was an especially important wedding to Roger. Not only were Lovensky and Valeria really special people and Roger knew that they were truly meant to marry, but Roger had also married Lovensky’s brother Reginald just last year! At this last weekend’s wedding, Reginald and Lovensky’s mother came up to Roger and thanked him again for officiating her two son’s weddings and said when ever her youngest son decided to stop “playing the field” and settle down and get married, she would want Roger to officiate that wedding as well.  Roger told her he would be honored and that would be a record for him.  Roger has married two sisters and two brothers, but never three!

2 Down…

The mother also said if Roger could hint to the youngest brother about at least thinking about changing his bachelor ways, it would be greatly appreciated… Roger said he had it handled! Now mind you everyone was on board with this idea. I guess the younger brother’s playboy ways were notorious… So at the conclusion of the ceremony, just after Roger pronounced them husband and wife, he completed the ceremony by saying “Two Down, One To Go”!  The crowd went crazy and the younger brother got the well intended hint!!
