Jhorge and Lily got married at the Paracel Restaurant in Westminster

Jhorge and Lily are such a sweet couple. They got married at the Paracel Restaurant in Westiminster on Mother’s Day. To honor this great day, they had a Mother’s Rose Presentation. In addition to the mother’s rose presentation, they also had a unity candle and wine box and love letter ceremony.

They also wrote their own vows. Check out my last blog or reach out to us to see the two easy steps on writing your own vows.

It was a sweet and intimate ceremony surrounded by friends and family.

When I arrived to their venue, the beautiful Mastro’s Ocean Club in Malibu, and met Raed for the first time we realized we’re both from Puerto Rico!!!

Raed & Gustavo live out of state so we didn’t have a chance to meet in person before their wedding. We were only able to communicate via email and texts as their careers are very demanding and on top of that they were planning their wedding on their own. All I knew was that they wanted a Spanish ceremony so I designed the perfect one for them and they loved it!

When I arrived to their venue, the beautiful Mastro’s Ocean Club in Malibu, and met Raed for the first time we realized we’re both from Puerto Rico!!! Five minutes into our conversation and being introduced to his friends I realized they knew part of my family and some of my friends from back home. The automatic love and connection between Puerto Ricans that meet outside of the island was immediately intensified!! It was like being with my own family and friends!! They even had a seat reserved for me and asked me to stay with them through the night.

I ended up exchanging numbers with some of their guests and the AWESOME couple invited me to come stay at their beautiful home. Needless to say we established a lifelong friendship. These people will be in my life forever.

I cannot express how much love I felt from them and all their guests. This was truly the best experience I’ve ever had!!!!

Michele and Bob had a Casual and Fun Wedding at the Charthouse in Redondo Beach, by Suvin

Michele and Bob have a wonderful love story and celebrated this at the Charthouse in Redondo Beach. They wanted to share this with their guests, so they elected to have the Greatest Package. With this upgraded package, I wrote custom vows and sprinkled tid bits of their relationship into the ceremony by a relationship questionnaire they filled out. They met 37 years ago, crossed paths many times throughout the years, and finally re met through the magic of Facebook! They were such a fun couple, they wanted a casual beach feel with lots of humor. Surrounded by family, friends, and the amazing view of the ocean, they exchanged vows, laughed together, cried together, gave each other that magic kiss, and may they live happily ever after…

Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay

Jaden and Quesia are starting out on a fresh, brand new adventure together as newlyweds as they were wed at the Reef in Long Beach with a beautiful view of the Bay. Even though they are in their early 20’s, they knew they wanted each other and no one else to grow old with. There was many advice from their parents and relatives to wait and make sure, but anyone watching had no doubt they were sure. Jaden told me before the ceremony to just make sure everything was right for his bride, that’s all he cared about. So he’s already ahead of the game. His mother also commented after the wedding, “I am losing my son, the apple of my eye! But he couldn’t have chosen anyone better than Quesia”.

Roger had the honor of marrying Greg & Shana this last weekend at the always wonderful wedding venue, The Reef in Long Beach

Roger had the honor of marrying Greg & Shana this last weekend at the always wonderful wedding venue, The Reef in Long Beach.  Greg & Shana had planned everything out perfectly, a great wedding venue, getting married at sunset, a full bridal party, ring bearer and a flower girl….everything !  In fact, the ring bearer and flower girl would be his kids who would participate in the wedding.  Well, the day of the wedding, everything was moving along smoothly, as everyone got ready for the big moment.  Just prior to starting, Greg the groom comes up to Roger and tells him that his kids would rather not participate (stage fright) !!!   But Greg and Roger also knew that Shana the bride REALLY wanted to walk down upon the red rose petals they had worked so hard to prepare….  So what does an officiant do in a case like this, he gets creative….  Roger walks up to the three groomsmen and makes them an offer they cant refuse…. You see, the groomsmen were not walking out with the bridesmaids but with just the three of themselves…. so they took on double duty and became the “flower girl groomsmen” !!  It was perfect !  And now these three groomsmen can check that off their bucket list !!

Octavio Saves the Day at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello

octaviolionelandyennyfer
Let me start by saying I have a very special place in my heart for this beautiful family! We met at a Bridal Show in Quiet Cannon and bonded immediately!!!! Their energies are so special I fell in love with them and was honored they chose me to be a part of such an important day in their lives!!!

Their ceremony was scheduled to start at 5 PM. For some reason there was a miscommunication with the DJ and he wasn’t at the ceremony site. He was still setting up at the reception room. We had to wait half hour for him to bring his laptop and set up the music so that we could start the ceremony. Unfortunately he needed an outlet to plug in his computer and there was none available. Luckily I pulled out one of my wedding playlists on my phone, got the authorization from the bride, and queued the music for the DJ to control it.

It ended up being perfect! Even though it wasn’t the actual songs the bride had picked, she was very happy that I was able to save the day and had some songs she loved! Even the DJ was impressed that the officiant was able to save the ceremony!

During the ceremony we did a family sand ceremony including Anthony, the couple’s son. I’m a huge fan of including family members in the sand ceremony. It’s symbolic to the fact that from that day on you will all be united as one, a family!

I had a wonderful time officiating Lionel & Yennyfer’s wedding!! They are truly special people to me!!

A Palms Springs destination wedding for Great Officiant Greg and Beth at the world-famous Tonga Hut!

tonga-3
On Saturday August 27th2016, Great Officiant Greg and Great Officiant Beth had the honor and pleasure of marrying Tim and Kristen Tristen Allegaert at the Tonga Hut, a Ultra-Kool 1958 Tiki-style bar and restaurant in Palm Springs California!  This was a real treat as it is such a unique venue for a wedding and reception!

The happy couple selected the “Aloha” ceremony.  As Aloha means love in Hawaiian (as well as hello, goodbye, and other things) so it was the perfect match for the Tonga Hut.  Great Officiant Beth, Greg’s wife, blew the conch shell prior to the ceremony.  The blowing of the shell signals the start of a new journey, and scares off evil spirits and crazy relatives and friends!  Greg was happy to have his wife Beth play the conch as she is really an expert!  Due to a freak Frisbee accident when he was a young man, Greg can no longer play the conch shell successfully.

However, Great Officiant Greg did a fantastic job with the Aloha ceremony!  Don Ho would have been impressed!   It was fun, loving, funny and full of Aloha!

Many thanks to the staff of the Tonga Hut for their help, and thanks to Great officiant Beth for the fabulous Leis!  Beth’s company Lei of Love is the preferred florist of Great Officiants.

All of the staff at Great Officiants wish Tim and Kristen many years of Aloha with their life together.
