One Plus One Equals Love for Two Beloved Childhood Friends

Daniel & Wendy were just kids when they met in algebra class and instantly became best friends. That was decades ago, and as the years passed and their lives kept intersecting it became crystal clear: They were always the one for the other. Fast forward to a beautiful day at the La Canada-Flintridge Country Club where Daniel and Wendy decided to tie the knot.

So amidst laughter, tears and cheers from over 200 of their closest family and friends, our bride and groom were annointed, blessed, and sent forth on their new path with love & light by Great Officiant Pris!

And to commemorate their union, the entire wedding party was enlisted to help symbolize “new life being co-created in community” in a Planting Ceremony.

This sweet conclusion to a highly personal, tender spiritual ceremony, called for a table to be brought out front & center; then a golden pot; stalks of bamboo; beautiful rocks; fresh water, and finally, packets of flower seeds such as Forget-Me-Nots, offered by Pris, all meant to represent the new growth of their marriage over time.

Romantic Afternoon Nuptials Between Childhood Friends Held Courtside With Pris

Rancho San Clemente Tennis Club was the site for Friday’s ultra sweet, ultra tender custom ceremony written and performed exclusively for Marcelo & Olivia by Great Officiant Pris.

These two gentle souls met as children at the home of their two best friends, brother & sister Daniel & Rayleene, who of course, served as their best man & maid of honor!

Celebrating Life, Celebrating Love” was the theme; blush, ivory & black were the colors; light & simple was the tone… everything was exactly as they had envisioned it would be and Pris was honored to be a part of their beautiful day.

Surrounded by their innermost circle of loved ones, with all the ancestors having been called in from the spirit world to bless our happy couple, their favorite Cherokee Prayer Blessing sent them off into their new life amidst sweet tears of joy:

May the Warm Winds of Heaven

Blow softly on your house.

May the Great Sprit

Bless all who enter there.

May your Mocassins

Make happy tracks

in many snows,

and may the Rainbow

Always touch your shoulder.

Beautiful Ceremonies With Pris…

Clarke Estate 3
Here are two lovely stories of wonderful ceremonies performed by our Officiant Pris, and told by her as well:

MOVING INTO SOMETHING BIGGER AS A MARRIED COUPLE

The beautiful Clarke Estate in Santa Fe Springs, was the location for the mid-afternoon nuptials, of two lovely people whose chance meeting at a karaoke bar led to true love and true happiness!

And as a bright yellow butterfly graced them with its presence, the bride & groom’s tender personal vow exchange was followed by a contemporary version of the Unity Cup, symbolically blending their two lives along with the lives of their families, sponsors and friends.

This semi-religious, semi-formal custom ceremony, written and led by Great Officiant Pris Munson, included the telling of their unique love story & vision of marriage, along with their choice of a reading in “These are the hands…”

OVER A DECADE IN THE MAKING

At the Calamigos

037
Equestrian Center, as the sun was setting on our couple’s old life, family & friends gathered to witness these two best friends finally tying the knot!

There’s is a love story like no other.

You see, way back when, our bride’s platonic male roommate kept insisting that she had to meet his co-worker, a fellow butler at the Playboy Mansion.  She was very emphatic that that was just not going to happen.  Then one day, while channel surfing, she ran across a cable program taking viewers on a tour of the Mansion.  Curious, of course, she watched.   And as she did, one particular butler caught her eye.  So when her roommate came home that night, she continued to insist that under no circumstances would she meet the butler he was trying to fix her up with.  However, there was this other butler, that she would consider meeting… the one she had seen in a shot in the kitchen.  And as she described him to her roommate, he just smiled that all-knowing smile, because the one who had caught her eye, was The Guy he wanted her to meet.

How about that?  Pretty crazy, huh?

So after some initial conversations, they met in person, and as the Universe would

022
have it, they hit it off!  But life would intervene, and after several fits and starts, our couple settled into their relationship, and tonight, made it official!

Many tears of joy were shed throughout their romantic, custom ceremony led by Great Officiant Pris Munson, that included the Blessing of the Stones, a community vow, parent thank yous, beautiful poetry, laughter and an outpouring of love as their unique story was celebrated by all!

Summertime Nuptials- Poolside In the OC

Adam & Ashley

037

Nestled in the hills near Santiago Canyon, the groom’s childhood home proved a perfect setting for the late afternoon union of Adam, Ashley and son Hawkins.

Complete with tender personal vows, family love letters, gift giving, poetry, live string players, a live jazz band and glorious weather, this Ultimate custom ceremony designed & led by Great Officiant Pris Munson, brought forth happy tears as this couple’s unique path to marriage was told, and lots of laughter, as their family dynamics were on display thanks to the antics of their 5 year old.

044

Serving as both best man and ring bearer, this precocious youngster had everyone chuckling and wondering what would happen next.  Fortunately, Officiant Pris enlisted the gathering’s support to “relax and go with the flow” with a child involved, and this proved an appropriate suggestion!

Everything was going along as planned with Hawkins walking his mother down the aisle, but then, once in place, he asked aloud how long he would have to stand there.  When he found out it would be more than a couple of minutes, he disappeared to another part of the garden!  Later, when he returned to his mother’s side, he wondered aloud where his bread sticks were and could she find them right away!  Then, he took the rings out of their fancy gold turtle and ran with them around the pool!

019

These surprises were, of course, fodder for Officiant Pris to invite the spirit of lightness & play to share the seriousness and gravitas of the moment.  So in between the sections of the ceremony, Hawkins would come back up front to be with his mother and Adam.  And in what appeared to be an act of thoughtfulness, he fanned her so she could cool down!   He even fanned Pris, too.  And fortunately, he stayed long enough to bring the rings up at the right time and receive a special engraved compass so that he would always be able to find his way!

047

The truth is, this Ultimate Celebration of Adam & Ashley’s Love Story was made all the more endearing by these spontaneous interruptions.  And they reminded everyone that we were not only bearing witness to this couple’s vows, we were being offered a rare glimpse into a young family’s life-in-action.

And isn’t life just like this display anyway, in all its many shades and layers, moving like clouds from serious to lightness and back again.  Endlessly in motion.

A New Family of Choice Created by this Rainbow Union – Tim & Danny

Tim & Danny’s north Long Beach home was the setting for their beautiful nuptials on Saturday afternoon.

Family and friends from near and far gathered in their backyard to witness — and participate — in a highly personal celebration of life, love, marriage, family & community!

012
This custom ceremony, penned & led by Great Officiant Pris Munson, included a reading of the powerful poem “THE TRUE LOVE” by David Whyte from The House of Belonging, uplifting thoughts about marriage, and a re-telling of the couple’s love story.

Tim & Danny also wanted their ceremony to include the unique elements of: a group blessing of their rings, a silver bar exchange, a group energy bond, and Passing The Love!

In order to create a mood of togetherness, when it came time for the ring exchange, everyone took turns silently holding & blessing the rings to the soaring accompaniment of “Cristofori’s Dream.”

041
What is very special about these particular rings is right before they were passed around, Pris announced they were Tim’s parents’ original rings from their wedding 50 years ago that they had given him 25 years ago in hopes that this day would arrive!

Later, in keeping with Catholic wedding traditions in Mexico, our two grooms exchanged a silver bar and pledged their mutual investment in caring for their home and providing for each other’s needs.

The intention of this silver bar exchange was to also remind them of the blessings of Mother Mary and the Holy Spirit and of all the good that they will experience as lawfully wedded husbands.

391
And finally, to conclude their custom ceremony, Pris invited Tim & Danny’s “family of choice” to stand and encircle them and create an energy bond by holding hands with their left hands palms up and their right hands palms down to symbolize giving and receiving.

Then, as everyone “Passed the Love” for our grooms around the circle by squeezing hands one by one, final blessings & good wishes were sent from our hearts to theirs!

It was a perfect way to usher them into marriage with one gigantic group blessing!

And even though the next door neighbor’s dog kept adding their voice to the proceedings, it didn’t really matter.

Because, as it says in Corinthians 13… “Love is patient.  Love is kind.”
