Great Officiant Greg and the privilege of marrying Bassam and Laura Younes on Saturday November 19th 2016 at the Lake Forest Sun and Sail Club in Lake Forest, California.

What a beautiful location for a wedding and reception!  The weather was absolutely perfect!  The ceremony was held on the water’s edge, with the reception at the clubhouse a short walk away.  The pictures speak for themselves!

Bassam looked so sharp in his blue suit and Laura was just lovely and beautiful in her wedding dress.  The ceremony was a customized “Catholic Lite” with the “Family Sand Ceremony” as an addition.  With their children, this ceremony was very special and heartwarming.

The special ceremony by Great Officiant Greg was very well received by the happy couple’s friends and family.  Bassam’s best friend made a special effort to thank Greg for such a wonderful and sincere, but fun wedding.  “You really nailed it!” he exclaimed!

All of us at Great Officiants wish Bassam, Laura and their children much love and happiness!

A beautiful golf course wedding for Great Officiant Greg!

rec-park-5
Great Officiant Greg had the honor of marrying Kylie and Ramin Amely at the picturesque Long Beach Recreation Golf course on Friday, August 19, 2016.  Recreation Park 18, otherwise known as “Big Rec Golf Course,” is a classic Billy Bell-designed Long Beach golf course layout and is one of the oldest and most popular courses in Southern California, originally designed back in 1910. Recreation Park’s clubhouse is a historical landmark nestled in the trees among beautiful rolling hills, and is a fantastic venue for weddings.  It is perfectly designed for a “ceremony on the green”, and then a short walk to the historic clubhouse, patio and reception.  Lots of free (close) parking is a great bonus as well!

The happy bride and groom just looked gorgeous!  They chose the Comedic Ceremony which was customized by Great Officiant Greg.  Although a very funny ceremony, Greg kept it loving, heartfelt and happy.  Kylie and Ramin, as well as their friends and family really loved the ceremony!

After the “formal” part of the ceremony, the happy couple and friends and family had a wonderful reception and dinner at the clubhouse.  Everyone had a great time!

All of us at Great Officiants wish Kylie and Ramin all our best wishes for their happy married life together.

A Palms Springs destination wedding for Great Officiant Greg and Beth at the world-famous Tonga Hut!

tonga-3
On Saturday August 27th2016, Great Officiant Greg and Great Officiant Beth had the honor and pleasure of marrying Tim and Kristen Tristen Allegaert at the Tonga Hut, a Ultra-Kool 1958 Tiki-style bar and restaurant in Palm Springs California!  This was a real treat as it is such a unique venue for a wedding and reception!

The happy couple selected the “Aloha” ceremony.  As Aloha means love in Hawaiian (as well as hello, goodbye, and other things) so it was the perfect match for the Tonga Hut.  Great Officiant Beth, Greg’s wife, blew the conch shell prior to the ceremony.  The blowing of the shell signals the start of a new journey, and scares off evil spirits and crazy relatives and friends!  Greg was happy to have his wife Beth play the conch as she is really an expert!  Due to a freak Frisbee accident when he was a young man, Greg can no longer play the conch shell successfully.

However, Great Officiant Greg did a fantastic job with the Aloha ceremony!  Don Ho would have been impressed!   It was fun, loving, funny and full of Aloha!

Many thanks to the staff of the Tonga Hut for their help, and thanks to Great officiant Beth for the fabulous Leis!  Beth’s company Lei of Love is the preferred florist of Great Officiants.

All of the staff at Great Officiants wish Tim and Kristen many years of Aloha with their life together.

A Botanical Garden Wedding for Great Officiant Greg!

John and Samantha 1
Great Officiant Greg had the honor and pleasure of marrying John and Samantha Torres on Saturday August 6th 2016 at the Los Angeles County Arboretum in Arcadia, California.  The Arboretum and Botanic Gardens covering 127 acres, is an arboretum, botanical garden, and historical site nestled into hills near the San Gabriel Mountains.  It is a wonderful venue for a wedding!

Samantha was absolutely stunning in her custom wedding dress, and John was handsome and sharp in his gray tuxedo.  Everyone was “dressed to the nines”, and looked great!

The Rose Garden was the actual site of the ceremony, and everyone had to take a Disneyland-style tram to that spot!  (The groom, groomsmen, bride and bridesmaids were in separate air-conditioned limos, however).  The setting was just beautiful, but quite hot!  The happy couple selected “My Favorite Ceremony”, customized by Great Officiant Greg.  It was fun and romantic, with just a touch of humor to keep it light.  John and Samantha were very happy and pleased with the ceremony, as were their friends and family!

The reception was held adjacent the Peacock Lounge at the Arboretum.  Aptly named, as there are thousands of peacocks at the arboretum!  Luckily, none decided to attend the ceremony!  They are beautiful, but very loud!

Dozens of movies and televisions programs have had scenes filmed at the arboretum beginning in 1936, including portions of two Jurassic Park movies and Objective, Burma!

Some of the Tarzan adventure movies were partially shot here. It was also the scenes for Paradise Island in The New Original Wonder Woman.

The Queen Anne Cottage used in the opening credits of the TV show Fantasy Island is located here. The cottage was also seen in an episode of Murder, She Wrote and Roots: The Next Generations.

In 2013, Katy Perry filmed her music video for “Roar” at the arboretum.

Many thanks to the staff at the LA Arboretum, especially the tram drivers and DJ Corey!

All of us at Great Officiants wish John and Samantha much love and happiness in their future together.

Another beach wedding for Great Officiant Greg!

Ashley Maye and Michael 1
Great Officiant Greg had the pleasure of marrying Michael and Ashley Maye Valvatne on Saturday, July 30th “on the sand” in Long Beach, California.  It was an absolutely gorgeous crystal-clear day, perfect for a beach wedding!

The event actually started on Friday with a full rehearsal “on the sand”.  With eleven bridesmaids and eleven groomsmen, the rehearsal was a must.  Everyone had great fun with the run through, which took two and a half attempts to get it right!

Ashley Maye was just stunning, beautiful and so happy!  Mike looked so handsome in his special tuxedo.  All the bridesmaids in their coral gowns were beautiful too, and the groomsmen in their tuxedos looked so handsome (and so different than the Friday rehearsal!)  Great Officiant Beth, the preferred florist for Great Officiants, had a logistics challenge with so many bouquets and boutonnieres for this very large party.  Beth also supplied the exquisite archway piece, which doubled as the sweetheart table floral arrangement at Mike and Ashley Maye’s reception at The Petroleum Club in Long Beach.

The happy couple selected “The Christian Ceremony” which was tailored for Mike and Ashley Maye.  Although a serious religious ceremony, Great Officiant Greg made it loving and fun.  The marriage was attended by a very large group of friends and family, some traveling a very long distance.  The bride, groom, their parents and many friends commented to Greg how much they enjoyed his presentation of the ceremony.

The happy couple will travel to Bora-Bora for their honeymoon!  Now that is really special!

Many thanks to Great Officiant Beth for the beautiful flowers and acting as the wedding coordinator.  And of course a big thank you to Suvin and all the staff at Great Officiants for the set-up and preparation.

Everyone at Great Officiants wish Mike and Ashley Maye much love and happiness in their future together!

Great Officiant Greg has a beautiful beach wedding in Santa Monica!

Scott and Heather 3
Great Officiant Greg had the true pleasure of marrying Scott and Heather Chard at the Annenberg House on July 16, 2016.  What a great location for a beach wedding!  The Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Beach is a public beach facility built on the location of a now-demolished 110-room mansion that was built for Marion Davies by William Randolph Hearst.  The “guest house” is restored and certainly could qualify as a mansion on its own!

Scott, his groomsmen and of course Scott II looked so handsome in their gray Tuxedos!  Heather’s personal taste dictated an eclectic mix of the modern and old-school traditional.  Her dress was just beautiful!  The bridesmaids were gorgeous, and little Bella was so cute and beautiful as well with all her jewelry and a little bouquet of her own.

My Favorite Ceremony, customized by Great Officiant Greg for Scott and Heather, included the “Blending of the Sands” was very VERY special since it included Scott II and Bella.  A special reading by Kathy made the ceremony one to remember!  All of their friends, family and relatives really enjoyed the marriage of Scott and Heather!

The reception was held at the Annenberg House banquet room, which was so convenient for everyone.  A special mention must be made to Greg’s wife, Great Officiant Beth and owner of Lei of Love, who supplied all the flowers for the ceremony, the archway flowers and the very special centerpieces.  Each one was a unique design, in a different style container.  Heather’s eclectic design flair was reflected in her special “antique” bouquet and these unique centerpieces!  Her vision was perfectly executed by Beth, and Heather was thrilled!  Lei of Love is the preferred florist for Great Officiants.

All my thanks to the staff at the Annenberg House for their help and assistance.  Also the staff of SoCal Beach Wedding (A division of Great Officiants) for the set-up of the chairs and archway.

All of us at Great Officiants wish Scott, Heather and their children much love and happiness as a family.

A Joyous Pasadena wedding for Great Officiant Greg!

Michael and Natalee 1
Great Officiant Greg had the honor of marrying Michael and Natalee Schlech on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Raymond 1886 Restaurant in Pasadena, California.  What a unique and historical venue for small intimate weddings!   The Raymond 1886 is a living example of Pasadena’s colorful past and carries on the city’s great traditions of craftsman architecture and unparalleled hospitality.

Although it was a warm and there was a little ash from the Sand fire, the outdoor setting was wonderful and beautifully set.  The planning coordinator Teresa from the Raymond did a superb job!  Everyone was very happy!  The groom was just a little nervous, but very handsome in his blue suit.  The bride was a bit more nervous, spending a little more time in the bar with her mother and father prior to the ceremony!

Natalee was just lovely in her wedding dress!  A customized version of “My Favorite Ceremony”, the bride and groom both presented their own personal vows.  It brought everyone to tears of joy and happiness.  It was a lovely ceremony that was truly appreciated by everyone!  Natalee and Michael said “You and Great Officiant Beth really made everything so special and made us so comfortable and reassured”.  “We are so happy we selected Great Officiants and especially Greg and Beth”.

After the beautiful ceremony and pictures with the happy couple, Greg and Beth proceeded to leave the Raymond 1886.  Greg gave the valet our ticket as another car pulled up.  A beautiful women and her date got out of the car and walked towards the front door.  She said to Beth, “what a beautiful dress!”  Beth looks at her and said “you look like Michaela Pereira!”   She then exclaimed “that’s because I am Michaela Pereira!”  Oh my, Beth says “my husband is crazy about you!”  Michaela Pereira is a television personality who was on KTLA 5 Morning News for nine years, moving to CNN New York and now back to Los Angeles on HLN with her own show.  An outstanding journalist, winner of numerous awards, she is even more charming and beautiful in person!  Michaela, Beth and Great Officiant Greg chatted for a brief while and said goodbye.   He just wishes he had taken a picture with Michaela!
