Congratulations to Siuna Morales & Neevon Esmaili on their November 19, 2016 wedding at the Oak Room at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA.  It was a perfect day for a wedding in Malibu and the timing was just around sunset outdoors in front of a beautiful rock waterfall.  It was a traditional ceremony to which they added the “Love Lock Tree.”  Love Lock are a symbol of love and commitment which have been inspired by an ancient custom.  The custom was started in Europe in the early 2000’s where love padlocks were affixed to a fence, gate or bridge to symbolize a couples everlasting love.  In this ceremony, the locks are affixed to a metal Love Lock Tree.  Their parents also affixed their locks in support of the couples intent to marry.  It added a nice dimension to the ceremony!

A Wizard Of Oz Happy Ending With Their Dog Toto…….

rogernolan1
This last Sunday Roger married a wonderful couple Nolan & Susu at the always amazing Calamigos Ranch in Malibu.  If you have never wandered the grounds at this wonderful venue, make plans to do so !  They are always so professional and will bend over backwards to make sure their brides and grooms have a wonderful wedding.  And it was not only a wonderful wedding but also very emotional too.  You see, they had told Roger that they were going have their loving dog Toto participate in their wedding.  Roger, being a giant dog fan, was all on board.  But about a week or so before the wedding, their poor little dog Toto was attacked by a coyote.  They were able to save him but they tearfully told Roger that he would not be able to attend due to his injuries and could Roger re-write the ceremony without him……..  Well, there is a special God that looks out for moments like this and somehow Toto recuperated quicker that anybody imagined.  They called Roger the night before and asked is there was anyway that he could add Toto back into the ceremony and even though Roger had printed out the version without Toto, he gladly re-wrote it that very night, re-printed it out just to make sure that this miracle was celebrated !  It was an amazing ceremony and Toto got a standing ovation in his “tuxedo” !   Ruff !!  The couple loved the ceremony !!

Weddings up and down the coast from Malibu to Del Mar.

It is a good thing that I drive a Prius. I put a lot of miles on my car going from Wedding to Wedding  this weekend I had weddings all over the place and it was a blast. From a simple beach wedding to a wedding at our new wedding chapel to the beautifully designed weddings I did it all.

Beach weddings on the beach or overlooking the water, are very special to me. And when I get an opportunity to do one that makes me very happy. When I’m surrounded by trees and laughter that makes me very happy. So being the guy who does weddings in Southern California, I’m a happy guy.

Here’s some pictures from the wedding as I did this weekend  and a couple testimonials.

Picture Perfect Celebration at Calamigos in Malibu

A few minutes after the ceremony TaeHyung was already having to hold stuff for his new Bride, Jan. Within a few days, he will be holding her purse as she shops! But that is LOVE!!

Seriously, it was another picture perfect celebration at Calimigos Ranch in Malibu officiated by Rev. Woody.

Jan and TaeHyung were kind enough to send Woody this beautiful thank you note:

"Thank you for being an awesome officiant! Everything went smoothly the day of the wedding! Thank you for answering all the questions I had prior to the wedding, practicing the names which are so hard to pronounce (you did a great job saying too!) and THANK YOU for reminding me to get my wedding license! We appreciate the great service you have provided, I left a couple of reviews about how great our experience working with you and I will recommend you to friends and family that might get married soon!  Also, it would be great if you could send me the pictures we took  after the ceremony, so I could keep it on our wedding scrapbook. Thank you again!"

Additionally they posted several 5 star reviews:

They are one of the preferred vendors in our venue (calamigos ranch Malibu) and now I know why! Rev. Woody was really great on wedding on 03/28/15! They respond to your calls and question promptly; and they are very professional and flexible. There any many options as to what you want your wedding to be and everything is customizable. We picked Rev. Woody as our officiant and he is amazing and we loved him; we didn't meet before the wedding day itself but we exchanged emails and spoke several times on the phone. We even practiced saying our names and the wedding party names cause we're Asian and its kind of hard to pronounce, he was very accommodating and sooooo nice! He explained all the details and questions regarding the ceremony. He even reminded me to get my marriage license which I forgot to get cause I was planning 1yr ahead and completely forgot! Thank you Rev. Woody! Everything went smoothly day of! So I totally recommend them to officiate your wedding!

Kermit Objected Loudly To This Wedding…….

This last weekend Roger married Michael & Connie at the amazing Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, one of Roger’s favorite wedding venues. The wedding area that Michael and Connie chose to get married at was the Redwood Room. The ceremony is held directly next to the reception area in front of a beautiful waterfall and pond. And this particular day, one uninvited guest decided to offer his two cents about this wedding and wasn’t shy about doing it….. Right at the beginning of the ceremony, just when Roger began to recite this couple’s love story, suddenly and without warning, one very loud bullfrog somewhere behind the bridal party started to croak……and croak….. and croak some more!! Every time Roger would start a sentence, this frog would do his thing. Roger would even hesitate to allow the bullfrog his moment, but it seemed that he only croaked when Roger started to talk! You could begin to hear the giggles in the crowd each time this bullfrog sounded off. Roger did his best to keep a semblance of order, but this frog wanted his moment in the spotlight and he certainly got it! It actually turned out to be a great story for the bride and groom and all their guests to tell…. The day Kermit crashed their wedding!!

Calamigos Ranch wedding Video testimonial

Dena and Logan got married at the beautiful Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. This is one of my favorite venues. While it was a very hot day the couple was very cool. We did a wonderful ceremony where they wrote their own vows which they placed in picture frames (as I recommend all couples do). They each wrapped them up in wrapping paper so their first gift to each other would be their vows. It was kind of cute.
Here's a nice picture of the three of us along with their testimonial.

Beautiful Malibu, Redondo Beach and Dana Point Ceremonies!

FotorAVY1AB

With much business about the rain- will it or won’t it – everyone opted for setting up outside. The staff at Cannons Seafood Grill, in Dana Point, did an amazing last minute job of setting up, drying up and putting up a fantastic site for Sara and Mark’s ceremony. The couple was extremely happy for the perfectly timed break in the rain and to have a fun, romantic and meaningful ceremony. Lots of smiling, laughing, dancing (or something that may have been dancing) and even a few fist pumps; that was the couple DURING the ceremony! Great way to start a Saturday afternoon and a lifetime of happy marriage!

Blog-Octavio1
Great Officiant Octavio married Aurora and John at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. He wrote us the following piece:

“What a gorgeous location for a wedding! This is a very special couple for me. We have a bond unlike any other. I guess it’s mainly because outside of their wedding, we would most likely be friends. If I could, I would marry them every weekend for the rest of my life! Many blessings to you my dears!”

FotorAVY2ABC
With lots of anxiety Anthony plodded along the erratic 405 from Dana Point, which started late due to rain, getting ever closer to the start time for Jillian and Robert. With a cool fifteen minutes to spare, I walked into the Crowne Plaza in Redondo Beach and saw a wonderful Chuppah with lovely flowers. The patio area lines with decorated chairs, everything looking perfect. The couple, family and wedding party were all having fun, laughing, joking and ready to “get married”! The rain stayed down south and only showed hints of making an appearance well after the ceremonies’ end. Including prayer, the Chuppah and the stomping of the glass at the end – all around fantastic blended faith event!
