Club wedding

Father Geoff and Rabbi Barry Co-Officiate a Wedding at the Bel Air Bay Club

There is nothing touchier than a Co-officiated wedding with a Priest and Rabbi.  Alan Katz has a crew of officiants who work seamlessly together.  As was the case for Shai and Marissa.  Paring Rabbi Barry Tuchman and Fr. Geoff Farrow was a gift from Heaven.  Married on August 25th at the Bel Air Bay Club, under perfect conditions, there was not one glitch to the ceremony.  Having worked with Fr. Geoff several times in the past, I have found him to be warm, compassionate and rich with knowledge and feeling.  I on the other hand provided the joyful and funny parts of the nuptials.  Of course, the Jewish traditions were explained with care for those who were not familiar to the traditions.  It was as if Fr. Geoff and I were members of a band playing our unique parts.  Rock on….
Rabbi  Barry

Who Stole the Rings!- Weddings by Great Officiant Michael Thieling

Kelly and Alvand

Married on July 18, 2014 at The Portofino – Redondo Beach

There’s a first time for everything and nothing proves that more than Kelly and Alvand’s wedding.  I went about performing a ring warming for them and their guests but when it was time to exchange rings I asked their guests where they had been passed to and there was silence.  I made a little joke saying “What, no one wants to give them back?” to which everyone laughed but still, silence as to their actual whereabouts.  Finally after what seemed like forever, the bride’s aunt raised her hand saying “Someone handed me rings but I didn’t know what to do with them.”  It seems she decided they were gifts that all the guests had gotten and because she came in a little late she hadn’t heard the ring warming explanation.

Everyone got a great kick out of it and it added such a memorable, albeit tense, moment to a beautiful ceremony.

Congrats guys!

Elizabeth & Brian

Married on July 19, 2014 at the Huntington Harbor Yacht Club

Elizabeth and Brian

Elizabeth and Brian were awesome to work with!  They had a beautiful, straight forward ceremony with a little twist and first for me – a dove release!

I worked separately with the bridesmaids and groomsmen and Mitch Todd (owner of OCDoves.com) to organize everyone and choreograph how the release would happen.  The ceremony went off without a hitch and I think the video of the dove release speaks for itself:

After their wedding they wrote us this lovely review:

“We had Michael T. as our Officiant and he did an amazing job. He was flexible in scheduling meetings with my husband and I and was very helpful in answering all the questions we had. The main website has many templates of readings and what is said during wedding ceremonies and Michael helped us find the perfect combination of things to accommodate what we were looking for.  Michael was very prompt in sending us emails with the revisions of the ceremony and also gave us different sources of readings to look at.  He speaks well and has very good stage presence! We felt extremely comfortable with him and took a liking to him automatically.”

Thanks so much guys – it was my pleasure!

Gail & John

Married on July 19, 2014 at a Private Residence

Gail and John 1

Gail and John had a very simple, private ceremony at their friend’s house in the beautiful Corona del Mar. As the sun set into the ocean in the background, their friends cheered after their “I Do’s.” I was so jealous that I didn’t get to stay for the amazing food provided by a private personal chef.

I give you all my best!

Great Officiant Octavio has been BUSY!

Octavio gave us the following info on his amazing weddings!

Amy & Martin got married at Monterey Hill Restaurant on their beautiful outdoor deck overlooking the hills that surround it. They did an extraordinary job decorating and the coordinator at the restaurant was great as well.  Though Octavio didn’t get a chance to meet Amy in-person before the ceremony, Amy was very involved in designing the ceremony with him, it felt like they had known each other for years.  Martin was a very sweet man, easy to talk to, and great energy.  Both families were very funny and kind!

————————————————————————————

Arely & Martin got married at a club called InCahoots in Fullerton.  They transformed the entire night club into a beautiful ceremony/wedding reception venue.  It was a great idea to have their ceremony and reception at a nightclub because many systems needed like sound, lighting, bar, and kitchen are already there so it takes much less planning than having it somewhere else.

They both looked amazing and Martin wore a beautiful Mariachi outfit that looked awesome.  You could see the love and respect they each had for one another and their culture.  I truly enjoyed being a part of their special day.

Anna & Eric got married at the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles.  WOW!  If you haven’t seen this place, you must!  It is impressive, out of this world, gorgeous, incredibly big, with organ pipes all throughout the church and stained glass in every window.  Anna and Eric knew what they wanted and were more involved in designing their ceremony, among everything else, than anyone I’ve ever worked with.  I wish I could officiate every one of my weddings at this church.  They allow non-denominational Officiants to perform wedding there, which is rare. Anna & Eric, thank you for being such a wonderful couple and giving me the honor to officiate your beautiful wedding!

We received the following letter from Anna & Eric after the ceremony:

We’re here in Cancun, Mexico enjoying our honeymoon. Thank you for this beautiful email to us. Eric and I were very pleased with your service, professionalism and care. You went above and beyond to make our special day just perfect. Everyone raved how wonderful you were and how beautiful the ceremony was.

I’ll definitely be recommending you to our family and friends for future weddings. As for the church, this gorgeous haven was the right place for us. We felt the wonderful vibrations and felt in love with the organ, service and unique look inside the church.

 Thanks again. 🙂

From Octavio: I wish each couple the best of luck and all the blessings in the World!!!
