Integrating A couple’s favorite band  “The Greatful Dead” into their wedding ceremony.

When meeting with my some of my couples and discussing their wedding ceremony, we cover a lot of different aspects of their life and loves.

Some couples are really into music. So I try to write something to integrate lyrics or song titles from their favorite band into the ceremony.

The one I wrote below was from a couple years ago on New Year’s Eve. They were really into the Grateful Dead. Yes two deadheads getting married.

So I wrote the following words that I integrated into the ceremony. I hope you like it, I know they did.

———

Before you met her you were a Wharf Rat and you were going down the road feeling bad you felt like there was a dark star crashing all around you and it was going to Hell In A Bucket… but at least you were enjoying the ride.
So one day you were just truckin along feeling like Johnny B. Goode and Monica looked over and thought you dont Feel like a Stranger. And you looked into each other’s eyes and thought I found the golden road and deep in your heart you knew I Know you rider.
So on your first date with some scarlet begonias and a Ramblin’ Rose in hand you realized comes A time. I should be in love And thought I Had the World to Give id give it to you.
So you decided to Turn on Your Lovelight and were Dancing in the Street. You worked hard to make an Estimated Prophet because you didn’t want to live on shake down street or in a Brokedown Palace.
After a night of Good lovin You would hang out Till the morning comes and you would wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world.
Soon you realized that women are smarter and she was Hard to Handle but the music never stoped and you went Around and Around saying IKO IKO all day.
You have come so far don’t let the deal go down.. you are in love and are now getting married. I don’t know it must have been the roses. But caution do not stop on the tracks… go forward… no throwing stones. Just wave that flag wave it wide and high ignite that fire on the mountain
Even when you have Touch of grey, you know your love will not fade away

At the South Bay Dance Center in Lomita, Love is in the air

IMG_7713
It was a 12/12/15 wedding of Erlinda and Desiree. They were together for three years before being married. They decided to tie the knot at the South Bay Dance Center in Lomita, CA. It was a beautiful venue.

Desiree and Erlinda were so in love, this was the perfect time for them to say “i do”. At 4 pm, right before the sunset, a crisp breeze rolled through the air outside, while it was nice and toasty inside the banquet hall.

Complete with their own vows and a ring warming ceremony, Shari performed a beautiful wedding.

Congrats to the happy couple!

A Padua Hills Theater Wedding is out of the box fun.

In doing weddings all over Southern California I get to go to a lot of amazing places. From backyards to ballrooms I’ve seen it all.

One of my favorite places is the Padua Hills Theater. It has a beautiful ceremony site surrounded by trees and is very picturesque.
After the ceremony all the guest or ushered to the back patio for a giant group shot.

Then it’s off for appetizers and drinks before heading into the beautiful ballroom.

My couple today Jamison and Rachel had a very fun ceremony with their own vows and a sand ceremony.

So many guests after the ceremony told me what a pleasure it was to see a ceremony that was fun and not boring.

I told them “that’s how I roll”.

Roger married a wonderful couple Jovanny & Brianna this last weekend at the Oak Canyon Nature Center in the hills of Anaheim.  The ceremony was in the middle of the woods and with the upcoming predicted rain, everyone was on edge…… but not a drop during the entire wedding !   But as soon as the ceremony was over, the rain started up big time and didn’t stop !!  Fortunately everyone was safe and sound inside for the reception !  Mother Nature approved of this wedding !

Beautiful Wedding at the Aliso Viejo Country Club

Aliso Viejo Country Club
The Aliso Viejo Country Club was in full swing for the holidays, with wreaths and poinsettias decorated around the venue. Suvin officiated the non-denominational, my favorite ceremony.

On the evening of Saturday, December 19th, 2015, Jennifer and Matthew had their ceremony planned. The weather threatened rain, which is good luck for weddings! Fortunately, the cloud moved in our favor (as they usually do), and the rain was not to begin well after the ceremony. With a crisp breeze in the air, it was a perfect setting for an outdoor ceremony.

Jennifer and Matthew were so in love, during the ceremony they could not keep their eyes off each other, they held hands, smiled, and laughed together. It was a beautiful setting, surrounded by their family. With a guest count of about 70, it was an intimate ceremony. With a view of the golf course and the magnificent hill side in the distance, the cloud cover created the perfect ambiance for wonderful photographs.

Chrislynn at the Aliso Viejo Country Club was magnificent. She made sure everything was in order and moving smoothly.

The couple had such positive energy and were so fun, we even took a selfie together!

Paul and Katherine Sewing traveled from the Midwest for a ceremony of marriage renewal scheduled for Sunday afternoon December 20 at the stunning venue of “Little Corona del Mar” in Newport Beach

Paul and Katherine Sewing traveled from the Midwest for a ceremony of marriage renewal scheduled for Sunday afternoon December 20 at the stunning venue of “Little Corona del Mar” in Newport Beach.  Paul (only telling Katherine that it was a family photo shoot) secretly secured from Great Officiants the services of Rev.Dr.Gary Barmore, and now all the family needed to be concerned about were the bands of rain showers striking Southern California.  Not to worry.  As this photo reveals, the coast was clear of precipitation and draped with lush and warming clouds, gilded by the setting sun.  The gorgeous site and romantic ceremony were perfect for Paul’s anniversary surprise to Katherine his bride of thirty years, who couldn’t stop smiling with glowing appreciation for her life-long groom.
