Wedding Ceremony at Salvation Mountain

You may say…..”where the hell is salvation mountain!?”

That’s what I said the first time I heard about the place.

Uli & Claudia are from Germany and read about this place and decided that when they came to the US on vacation they wanted to get married there. Not for religious reasons but for its brilliance. They brought their daughter with them and we did an amazing ceremony together.

I added a sand ceremony for them and collected dirt and paint chips from the area and put them in the bottle and then they topped it with their sand.

Once you see and explore this place in the middle of nowhere you will never forget it.

Per Wikipedia
Salvation Mountain is a visionary environment covering a hill in the Colorado Desert, north of Calipatria near Slab City, and several miles from the Salton Sea. It is in Imperial County, California.
The artwork is made from adobe, straw, and thousands of gallons of lead-free paint. Salvation Mountain was created by local resident Leonard Knight (1931–2014).[1] It encompasses numerous murals and areas painted with Christian sayings and Bible verses, though its philosophy was built around the Sinner’s Prayer.[2]
The Folk Art Society of America declared it “a folk art site worthy of preservation and protection”[3] in the year 2000. In an address to the United States Congress on May 15, 2002, California Senator Barbara Boxer described it as “a unique and visionary sculpture… a national treasure… profoundly strange and beautifully accessible, and worthy of the international acclaim it receives”.[4] Salvation Mountain was proclaimed as a national treasure by the Congressional Record of the United States.

Sunrise wedding on the beach in Long Beach.

John and Kris decided to get Halloween started off right by getting married. So at 7 AM I met them at their home across from Mothers Beach area of Long Beach. We took care of the paperwork and then gingerly walked across the street where I drew a heart in the sand and just the two of them and a photographer captured this moment of love. As they kissed the sun rose over Marine Stadium.

We wish them a happy marriage and a happy Halloween.

The Wedding of Brittney Holton and Alex Megrano, October 13 at Fountain Valley’s Mile-Square Park “Wedding Garden”

Every officiant hopes that from every nuptial a couple begins a lifetime of love, commitment and joy.  At the wedding of Brittney Holton and Alex Megrano, October 13 at Fountain Valley’s Mile-Square Park “Wedding Garden” the Rev.Dr.Gary Barmore received a double blessing in this regard:  Not only did a beautiful and personal ceremony launch this couple on their romantic and responsible voyage, but following the wedding recessional, the officiant heard someone call “Hey Gary” — it was Bruce and Marianne, a couple he had married twenty years earlier!  After hugs and joyous expressions, Rev. Gary told their two teenaged children, “I helped make you happen.” Great Officiants, who suggested the professional services of Dr. Barmore to Alex and Brittney, can bask in the glow of bringing our world lots of lasting love.

“You May Now Place The Ring On The……Middle Finger” ?

middlefingerroger
Roger married a really fun couple Mike & Iris this last weekend at the Diamond Bar Golf Course.  When Roger met with Mike & Iris to plan the ceremony, Mike pointed out that Roger would have to change the way he instructed them to put on the weddings rings because Mike was missing two of his fingers on his left hand, his ring finger and his last finger, which meant that the wedding ring would have to go on his middle finger.  Roger, always a trooper, said no problem and that he could handle it.  But Mike wanted him to do one better and have fun with it.  All his friends and family have been teasing Mike about it for years so after putting the ring on, Roger asked the couple to hold up their hands and show off their rings and of course, Mike got to give the entire audience his “finger” to show off his ring !  It was an amazing wedding and a lot of fun.

Notice in the below picture all the bridal party are holding up three fingers in support of Mike !

Congratulations ton Caitlin Petty & Eddie Romero on their October 10, 2015 wedding at The Hacienda On The Lake in Mission Viejo

Caitlin & Eddie P. - 10.10.15
Congratulations ton Caitlin Petty & Eddie Romero on their October 10, 2015 wedding at The Hacienda On The Lake in Mission Viejo.  The weather was great (a little warm, but not unbearable – not while looking at the lake).  Everything went as planned.  Guests seemed to have enjoyed the ceremony – who wouldn’t have when just for entering the building you received a glass of wine or a  Corona!  Well, everyone except the officiant, who entered more than once with no luck!  Which is exactly what I would have expected.  My best to the Happy couple!

A Weekend of Festivities in Malibu

Lisa & Carlos
I had a lovely (and very HOT) weekend with the Molina family—a delightful gathering full of excitement.  On Saturday, Lisa and Carlos became Dr. & Mrs. Molina amidst much happiness and revelry!  The venue was “The Barn” in Malibu, adjacent to the vineyards of Malibu Wines.  On Sunday, at their beautiful home in Agoura, I was blessed to baptize their son Coltrane into the family of God.  Again, a large happy group of family and friends assisted in the joy of the occasion, and an excellent brunch including made-to-order omelets helped seal the deal!
