OMG I love this dress

Heajung & Huan got married at Oak Canyon Nature center

When I saw her dress I thought it was beautiful until she turned around and I noticed the heart shaped in the back of the dress. So beautiful!

I did an amazing ceremony for them filled with love and laughter and unplugged.

So at the brides request I had everybody put away the cameras, cell phones and iPads and told them to experience the ceremony with their eyes and their ears in their hearts.

They prepare their own battles and at my recommendation put them in this beautiful frames.

The harpist played some beautiful music before during and after and really created a wonderful ambience.

This menu is a beautiful rustic place and you can DIY it to your hearts content.

40 Wedding Guests…..Make that 41………

blade1
So Roger officiated his beach wedding this last Saturday where he teamed up with the ever amazing Suvin the beach wedding guru. Everything was set; the weather was holding up, the beach wedding layout was perfect, Roger was ready to go and all 40 guests were there…… oh yeah, make that 41…….they had an extra uninvited guest….. A lone, feisty fisherman who was NOT going to move for any “dang wedding”.  So with a little prodding and pushing, he acquiesced and moved 20 feet away out of the sight of the wedding….. sort of…..  (you can still see him in the picture)  But the wedding went off without a “snag” and Roger never “floundered”!!!

A Perfect Wedding at the Portofino in Redondo Beach

hotel port
My wedding on May 8 was as close to a perfect wedding ceremony as I can imagine. At the Portofino in Redondo Beach, with rain threatening, and wind swirling. The Bride, Elizabeth Baisley was stunning, The Groom, Christian Mezzina was beaming. Heavily customized, honoring the guests, many of whom had travelled literally halfway across the earth to attend, and suited to the senses of humor the wedding couple had shown in our meetings, the wedding and wine box ceremony were greatly appreciated by all key players. I asked the Bride what she thought afterwards, and she replied, "I could not possibly be happier," and gave me a big hug!

The Fly Boy, The Russian Bride, and the Barefoot Officiant, Malibu Beach Wedding

Olesya and Anthony got married in front of the Sunset Restaurant in Malibu. In addition to performing the ceremony they also enlisted our beach division to design and set up a most beautiful arch. The arch was a four post bamboo arch covered with both white and sheer Tiffany blue drapes adorned with starfish and flowers.

The ceremony was a combination of a Hawaiian style ceremony, and a traditional style ceremony. At the beginning of the ceremony, the conch shell was blown, the couples said their vows and did a beautiful sand ceremony at the end. The bridesmaids were beautiful and dressed to the nines. The guests thouroughly enjoyed the ceremony, and then went off to their reception.

The rain had cleared up right before the ceremony, so they had the toes in the sand expereience they wanted. With beautiful clouds in the sky, the sun shining, we congratulate this happy and beautiful couple.

Good Luck Sun on a Rainy Day at El Adobe in San Clemente

20150515_185033_resized
I woke Friday morning  on May 15 to a wet world with the rain still pouring.  California is thirsty and we've all been praying for rain, but I winced thinking that the rain might destroy Traci and Steve's wedding plans.  They were set to be married outside that evening in the beautiful courtyard of El Adobe Restaurant a classic old restaurant and building in the quaint town of San Clemente.  We spoke mid-morning about an alternate plan, should the rain keep up, thankfully the restaurant could set up inside if need be.  Still, I knew Traci envisioned saying her "I do"s outside and I was feeling worried for her.

Wouldn't you know it, the sun creeped out mid afternoon and by 5pm when I arrived at the location there wasn't a cloud in the sky!  El Adobe was the perfect spot for their ceremony and reception as they celebrated their Mexican roots with a fabulously themed wedding.  Midway through the ceremony I quoted the Song of Solomon, "Lo, the winter is past!  The rains are over and gone!"  It seemed like the scripture was written just for them!

All was perfect, the sunshine, the dress, Steve's fabulous black and white patent leather shoes, the kids, and the love!  They decided to include Steve's boys in the service by incorporating the sand ceremony.  I love this element and especially loved it at their wedding.  Like life,it was a bit messy, but all four of them poured their sands together creating something beautiful.  That's what marriage is all about— being able to laugh through the messy parts and ultimately experience the beauty of what you have created together!

They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck.  I don't think Traci and Steve needed it: they are perfectly matched. They both put family first, value and enjoy the other, and cherish their relationship and the love they share.  If you ask me, the rain simply showered them with blessings, and then the sun came out and brightly shined upon them!

What a joy to get to know this couple, experience their dedication to family, and one another, and witness their love as they professed it before their friends and family!

Sunshine Was Invited And Welcomed!

lund2
With rain predicted for much of the weekend and Roger’s wedding being outside at the L.A. Arboretum, the bride & groom Erich & Rebecca were very nervous with no back up plan…… But while getting sprinkles while Roger drove to the ceremony, the sunshine came through that afternoon and gave its best performance for a perfect wedding! Roger didn’t do so bad either!
