Wedding filled with Rain, Rainbows and Relatives at a Wyndham in Costa Mesa

When Randy and Michelle started their wedding plans the one thing they didn't count for was a little bit of rain. It doesn't rain in sunny Southern California does it?

Luckily at the ceremony time the clouds slightly parted and it was mostly dry until the very end of the ceremony. As a note of whimsy for the recessional they played the song "somewhere over the rainbow".

One of the cool things for me was that I had done a wedding for one of the groomsman five years ago and am scheduled to perform another one of the groomsman's wedding next month. None of them knew this before hand.

The ceremony site at the Wyndham is a beautiful terraced walkway with the lake and fountain behind it.

I always get excited when I get to perform a ceremony here as I love the way it look.

A Beautiful day at the Vineyard Inn at Ponte Vineyards for Frank and his wedding!

Congratulations to Shantal Smith & Jeff Pont on their November 22, 2014 wedding at the Vineyard Inn at Ponte Vineyards in Temecula, CA.  You could not have asked for a better day – weather was perfect (as was the ceremony, music and coordination).  The vineyard was elegant and the setting picture-perfect!

Rev. George has a sunset wedding at El Matador State Beach in Malibu

Robert and Lluvia got married at El Matador State Beach in Malibu California at Sunset. It was low tide so we had plenty of spots to pick from. The bride wore blue and part way down the trail opted for sandals instead of high heels. Robert went back up the hill to get them. Lluvia's mom and uncle were there along with her cousin. The bride was beautiful and the groom was handsome it was obvious they were in love. El Matador is below the bluffs so we had a hike down to the beach.  We were careful going slowly and watching our footing on the way down. The views of the beach and the ocean were spectacular, only to be outdone by the bride and the groom. Parking is at a premium and I met the groom at the parking kiosk. I knew it was him by the black shoes, black pants, and white shirt, not your normal beach attire. I said are you Robert he said yes and I said I am Rev George. It was a great time and everyone was relaxed and when I said you may now kiss your bride, well Robert took me seriously.

Two couples, Four best friends get married on the beach

I've done many double weddings in my career but this one was very special.

Both couples have been friends for 25 years so it was so amazing that got to get married on the same day at the same place by the same extraordinary Officiant. Me lol.

They wanted to do a lei exchange and then a sand blending ceremony with a twist.
After they blended their sand as a couple then they blended two jars with therefore colors as friends.

The ceremony took place on Little Corona Del Mar beach and the bay could not have been more beautiful. I still can't believe I get paid to put my toes in the sand and make people happy.

The Star View Room at the Sheraton Universal has a 360* view of the Valley and Hollywood Hills!

Benny & Emmy's ceremony took place at the Star View Room at Sheraton Universal. This venue has 360* views of the Valley and Hollywood Hills. It is absolutely stunishing!

Their ceremony was great and the happy couple added a few twists to ring exchange and other portions of the ceremony making everyone laugh and really enjoy the ceremony. We incorporated the Mothers Rose Presentation and Sand Ceremony.

There were about 400 guests and everyone looked like Hollywood Royalty!

Benny & Emmy, thank you for giving me the honor of officiating your wedding! You guys ROCK!!!! Many blessings to you in this fascinating journey you have embarked on!

Officiant Lisa Smith had the pleasure of being part of Anthony and Ana’s special day

Saturday November 8th, 2014 They were joined by family and friends to celebrate their love. The Christmas House in Rancho Cucamonga CA. was the perfect location for this joyous occasion. This over 100 year old grand victorian home looks like the family just went out for a short time soon to return. This is a beautiful, delightful, elegant venue. Anthony and Ana had a lovely garden wedding just as the sun was streaming perfect light unto the gazebo they were united in marriage. A very heartfelt poem was recited in Spanish by Ana's Niece followed with the "My Favorite Ceremony" and special custom Vow's written by these two lovers also including a Unity Candle Ceremony. But I must say the star of the show was the Ring Bearer unfortunately the paparazzi couldn't get a photo of him. The little fellow did such a great job for a doggie! He proudly and briskly walked up the isle to deliver the rings tied to his special bandana! Just as quick as he did his job he was gone, (the shy type) A splendid reception party followed and was enjoyed by all at the Christmas House. Certainly a joyous occasion to remember for years to come. Congratulations to Anthony And Ana.

Catholic style wedding ceremonies for same-sex couples

IMG_2928.JPG

As one of the leaders in performing ceremonies for same-sex couples one of the things that we have to offer is the ability to provide a Catholic style ceremony utilizing a former Catholic priest.
Our Father Geoff, in addition to being a major advocate in the marriage the quality movement he also performs many ceremonies for our same gender couples.
Same-sex couples who were raised Catholic still want to have a ceremony steeped in there belief.
This is something were happy and honored to do. Here is a wonderful review that we received from one of our Catholic same-sex couples posted on the Knot.

An absolute pleasure! 11-12-2014

We are so grateful that we found Great Officiants. We were having a difficult time as a same sex coupe trying to find a Catholic priest to marry us. Great Officiants made our dreams come true and put us in touch with Father Geoff. I emailed Alan Katz late one evening, and he called me back in a matter of minutes. Within hours, we were speaking to Father Geoff. Father Geoff was always available to us and went above and beyond the what he was contracted to do. Father Geoff was genuinely invested in our wedding. Thank you Alan and Father Geoff!..
