“Hey there Octavio, Leydin and I just wanted to say thank you very much for marrying us this past Saturday. Both our families said that it was a beautiful ceremony and that you spoke very kind words. We can’t thank you and Alan enough but we wanted to let you know we appreciate the terrific job you did. Take care and God bless.”                   –Saul and Leydin, Married by Octavio on May 17th

“Dear Roger, we just got home from our honeymoon yesterday. We can not thank you enough. We love that the ceremony turned out exactly how you said it would, THE BEST PART OF OUR DAY! We had endless comments about you and the ceremony, and have requests specifically for you for our cousins wedding and others who said they want your name for future events. We thank you for making our day so extremely special and as so many said, it was the best ceremony they had ever been a apart of. Thank you for everything!”         –Austin and Angela, Married by Roger on May 17th

Roger officiated one of his favorite and most memorable weddings this last weekend at the beautiful Los Angeles Ebell club.  Not only was this wedding really great to write because the Alex and Stephanie’s love story was so much fun, but the 175 guests were really into the wedding!  Roger even got an applause break during the ceremony- it was fantastic!

Officiants Frank & Roger Perform Peaceful and Fun Outdoor Ceremonies!

Frank-Kim & Albert S.

Congratulations to Kimberly Knall and Alberto Sotelo on their May 16, 2014 wedding at the Secluded Gardens in Pala, CA.  When they say secluded, that’s what they mean!  In the heart of the dense woods — trees and nature surround you, sheltered from the sun and extreme heat.  A beautiful, peaceful setting for a perfect wedding.

Roger- Tongue Sticking Out Wedding
Roger officiated a crazy fun wedding for Austin and Angela this last weekend at the beautiful Long Beach Golf Course!  This wedding was more of a party that a ceremony. And Roger fit right in. Not only was there surprises in store for the wedding guests – Roger got to announce that the bride and groom were 10 weeks pregnant to an ecstatic crowd, but this bride and groom had a fun tradition in the past of getting pictures of friends and family sticking out their tongues- so what better time than during the ceremony!  It was a hoot and a fantastic ceremony!

Frank- Kristina & Eric S.

Congratulations to Kristina Kurbanyan and Eric Stemp on their May 24, 2014 wedding at the beautiful and historic Castle Green in Pasadena, CA.  The ceremony started on time and concluded without a flaw!  You could not have asked for better weather.  Initially the focus was on the flower girl who, instead of throwing the petals as she walked down the aisle, decided to clean up and picked them up, putting them in her basket instead.  She later decided to put them back!

Great Officiants Octavio and Ralph’s Beautiful Beach Ceremonies

Ralph- Angela & Tracy

Rev. Ralph presided over the nuptials of Angela & Tracy on the beach at beautiful Point Dume, on Sunday afternoon, May 18.  The bride made Ralph’s job easy: she not only provided personalized vows, but wrote the entire ceremony herself!  It was a lovely day, a lovely service, and a lovely couple!

Our Great Officiant Octavio wrote the following: Allan & Stephany got married at beautiful Hotel Laguna in Laguna Beach, CA. The ceremony took place on the beach and the crowds were cheering them on as we did the ceremony! This is one of my favorite things about officiating ceremonies in public places, everybody around joins in on the love!!!

Allan & Stephany, thank you for giving me the honor of officiating your wedding! I wish you all the blessings in the World!

Officiant Michael’s Packed Weddings Pt 2!!!

SueAnne and Nick had a beautiful midday ceremony just up from the beach in Santa Barbara.  I got the pleasure of telling their love story to their family and friends before they tied the knot and went off to a fabulous luncheon reception.

They sent me this lovely note afterwards and we wish them all the best!

"Thank you so much for an awesome ceremony. Everyone came up to us after and asked us if you were a lifelong friend since you delivered our story so well. Everyone was laughing and crying throughout your dialog and most people said it was the best wedding they have ever been too. Again thank you and keep up the great work. It made our wedding day that much more special."

Michael- N & R

Who doesn't love a surprise vow renewal?  Nathan and Rachel agreed to do one every year but this time around Rachel had no idea.  Nathan told her that I was an old softball buddy of one of their friends and that we were all going out to dinner together.  But first, their friends wanted to show them a special spot on the beach.  As Nathan and Rachel walked past me he told her that none of them knew me, I was an officiant, and it was time to renew their vows.  She was shocked and the surprise went perfectly.

Afterwards, they had this to say:

"We had a blast with our officiant – Michael Thieling. He helped me do a quick 10 min vow renewal on the beach by pretending to be one of my friend's old softball buddies that we were going to dinner with. It was quick, easy, painless, and my wife was surprised and loved it.  I would (as would my wife) use Great Officiants and more specifically Mike again anytime and highly recommend them!"

Mark and Brandon's story was amazing, as was their ceremony at the beautiful Disney Concert Hall.  After I told their love story, the couple exchanged arras (coins), performed a sand ceremony, and of course said their vows and I Do's.  The finale, however, might have been the most special – Mark surprised Brandon with a professional vocalist who performed Adele's "Make You Feel My Love" – a personal concert for two.  I then had the pleasure to go to their wonderful reception at Lexington Social House for an unforgettable party!

Afterwards, they left the following review for Great Officiants:  http://www.weddingwire.com/reviews/great-officiants-long-beach/1baffbabd5438059.html

Thank you so much gentlemen, I look forward to seeing you both again soon!

Terrence and Jessica was so fun and there were lots of laughs all around.  After I recounted their courtship story, they exchanged vows, I Do's, rings and followed it all up with a huge Sand Ceremony that incorporated their four children.  Afterwards I proclaimed that I married Derek Jeter to Mariah Carey – they're dead ringers. They day after their ceremony, Terrence texted me this:

"Hello Michael, this is Terrence and Jessica.  We just wanted to thank you again for doing such a GREAT job.  Every one commented on how great you did.  It was truly an honor to have you part of our most special day." The honor was all mine guys!

Officiant Michael’s Packed Wedding Weekend Pt. 1

Michael 5-9

This young couple was so fun!  While their ceremony had quite a number of guests we were in a lovely side area of Calamigos Ranch, in Malibu, which gave it an intimate, private feeling.  They exchanged personal vows which contained more than one Disney reference to the delight and laughter of their family and friends.  Their Disney cake epitomized their celebration – carefree joy and light-hearted excitement.

How can you not have an amazing time this close to Disney Land?  Tin and Megumi’s intimate ceremony was beautifully setup in the center garden area of this castle-like hotel, the Sheraton Anaheim.  While their friends and family watched (along with some curious hotel guests), they tied the knot and began their new life together.

Mike2Fotor

Grace and Scott boarded a cruise ship in Los Angeles and hopped off in Santa Barbara so that I could perform their ceremony.  Along with a friendly couple they met on the ship and their photographer, they exchanged heartfelt vows and some special readings they picked for each other on the beach.  After I pronounced them husband and wife, we sped them back to the dock just in time to re-board the ship for the rest of their vacation.

Toes in the Grass and Love in their Hearts

rings laugh
Today I had the opportunity to perform a wedding ceremony for Kelsey and Meagan at the Lighthouse Park in Long Beach.

When I issued them their license 2 days prior I knew that they were so in love and wanted to have a fun ceremony. In their ceremony we did a mothers rose ceremony and a hand blessing with my kakui nuts.

I also went around to their friends and family with the rings and had them all say a silent wish or blessing over the rings.

They were so happy.
